360pagesPosted 1/24/2013 2:38:31 PM | When the entire point of the games existence is to sell more copies than the original series, it is a failure if it doesn't sell more.
They didn't make this game to try something new, the wanted God of war numbers, which this game is failing to bring in. Heck some people probably don't even think it has anything to do with the Devil may cry series and just thought it has a similar name. --- Gamefaqs in a nutshell (http://error1355.com/img/gif/gamefaqscant.gif) |

hoagie727Posted 1/24/2013 2:39:18 PM | Pes,
It is sad that instead of giving a valid argument all you can say is
"lol excuses"
I expected more. You are a shadow of your former self.
And I am not making excuses. Simply offering counter points to think about.
It is not my fault if people refuse to acknowledge them. |

That means you have the best selling game for that week.
Who cares if the numbers are not as good old games, that means nothing.
It is a fact console game sales are not what they used to be. If you feel you need to disregard that in order for your hate to continue feel free. The game was rebooted for "increased sales" and not "top charts" in drought months. CAPCOM was dissatisfied with sales of DMC4 and wanted to sell 5 million. This game wouldn't be "topping" charts anywhere with its pathetic sales if it was released a couple of months later alongside major releases. Topping charts means nothing if the numbers are meagre. If the game is going to sell less than all other original DMCs then what good was the reboot? |

hoagie727Posted 1/24/2013 2:42:16 PM | Yeah,
Because when I think I want increased sales I think, let's go with Ninja Theory.
Tameem has even admitted he doesn't care about commercial success.
Capcom knew they were taking a chance it would not sell well. |

I wonder how well DmC would do if it was to come out in February or March when it actually has some competition.
This is what people are apparently choosing to ignore.
People are choosing to ignore another important factor. What about more than at least 80 million increase in install base of PS3s and XBOX360s since 2008? DmC had a MUCH MUCH larger install base to exploit but still managed sell less. CRAPCOM must be pulling their hair out and Ninja Theory must thinking who to blame next for their failures. Tameem will blame someone like me, who rented the game and beat it in about 6 hours and had enough. --- PSN>TheReal_Seal I'm the official Vega of the universe! http://us.battle.net/d3/en/profile/TrangOul-1280/hero/25125410 |

DMC4 was released in 2008! If your logic is true then why are there numerous multimillion sellers in the industry today? Games reach the million sales mark much easier today than in "2004". Capcom knew they were taking a chance it would not sell well. Why did they set their sales estimate so high if they thought it wouldn't sell well? I don't think this game will break even. --- I JUST KEEP BURNNING LOVE! |
