First week numbers for all territories:

North America: 180,000 (49% of total)
Europe: 40,000 (12% of total)
Japan: 110,000 (31% of total)
Everywhere else: 30,000 (8% of total)

TOTAL UNITS = 360,000

NA numbers are in line with general expectations based on the sales of Japan and Europe we already knew before. This is not surprising. Perhaps they're even a bit lower.

Damn that is terrible...I feel bad for ninja theory. I really wish they had just focused on a new IP. What a shame.

They got paid already. The only one who takes a hit is Capcom. The way it should be :D

Well if any one be crazy enough to hire their studio again will impacted by this. They may find it hard to have this much creative control over a project again unless it is purely in house.

Vanquish, Bayonetta, Okami, all sold poorly. I guess now low sales = bad game that cant be enjoyed?

Okami sold poorly? I thought that game got a high rating for its art style and unique gameplay.

Yeah, but they still made a profit. Just not a HUGE one.

Just covered this on page 4. :-)

According to Capcom, if Okami didn't sell enough by 2009 there'd be no sequel. And there was. And as of 2013 Okami has sold 1.2 million copies (including the HD rerelease), with 600,000+ copies selling on the Wii and 500,000+ PS2 and 100,000+ on the PS3.

Bayonetta sales.

Dragon's Dogma. Proof that even as corrupt as Capcom has become, they can still come up with amazing games.

From what I remember seeing, Japan sold 120k (115 on PS3 and 5k on the 360), while UK was around 65k give or take don't remember the exact number. It was in the 60s though.

XD at a few Pros who are still in denial, yes, VGchartz isn't the most reliable source in the world, but it's certainly not that far off considering that we already have a pretty good idea of how well DmC fares in UK and Japan.

I'm not losing Hope until they reach the end of the 4th week. First week sales are usually for most games, not the majority sales. Hopefully it'll reach 650.000-750.000. These days I lose Hope for million sales. Prototype 2 didn't get them, and for some reason Darksiders II did, but I doubt this game or even Rising will get what they deserve (although due to the star power of Metal Gear, I do think it'll surpass a million for some reason).

Lol good point.

DmC did indeed sell 120k+ in the UK alone.

I heard it broke 300k in Japan

LOL no, You heard wrong.

Wasn't it closer to 100,000 in Japan?

That's what Famitsu said anyway.

300k, 100k, or 1 sale. Im still enjoying this game, even though i might be in the minority, much like Bayonetta.

How is that relevant to this topic?

Since saying something like "Here they come", followed by another **** DMC4 gif is always relevant.

How are sales relevent to us? Do we own stock or shares of Capcom and thus profit/lose money over its success/failure?

Is a games sales relevent to how much we enjoy/dislike the game?

The thing is that the way Capcom, Ninja Theory and gaming journalist have been acting has come back to bit them in the ass.
