SHMYazoo posted... They both have 5 games so far. Two of the God of War games were PSP games. Also, God of War is a Sony exclusive. Devil May Cry was the 2nd best selling hack n' slash series of the genre and was catering to a less "casual" audience. Because of that, it sold less. However, being 2nd best in an entire genre despite having jack **** for advertisements (compared to the millions upon millions that the average God of War game has) and being brave enough to say "Hey, if you want to play this game, you actually have to learn how rather than being spoonfed it. If you can't... use Automatic" is VERY damn good. Let me attempt to use your logic for a second... Call of Duty sells 25 million copies with each iteration and is about as "Dudebro" as you can get. Deus Ex Human Revolution sold 2 million copies yet has RPG elements, side quests, a dozen different ways to approach the game, and punishes you for playing without thinking. Therefore, Call of Duty is better that Deus Ex Human Revolution and Call of Duty is the way of the future. What's that? They are catering to two completely different audiences within the genre? Call of Duty has a 100,000,000+ marketing budget while Deus Ex probably didn't even have a fraction of that? Variety is the spice of life? Nah, Call of Duty is the way bro! --- Currently going "squa squa squa!" To the Devil May Cry franchise: http://25.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_ls0e5g1oWn1qjkv09o1_500.gif... at least for now.

Somebody should look at how many goddamn times God of War has been rereleased. Also, 10 million sales is still really good and not every title needs to appeal to every gamer. Honestly, this thread is pretty stupid. --- "Jak and Daxter does not have a sequel so that doesn't prove anything." - DesperateMonkey
GujinKami posted... From: TheBestGman2007 | #508Godhand sucked. Art and beauty? Seriously? Okami, Catherine, Flower, Journey, Limbo, Braid, ICO, SotC, and The Unfinished Swan. Those are beautiful, artistic games, saying Godhand is in their league is an insult. @Ka Thanks, I should've wrote that anyways. --- So he replies: "and how do I manage?" Those are beautiful, artistic games, saying Godhand is in their league is an insult. Right, what's not to love about completely unbalanced difficulty? Ever played Dark Souls? If you did, you realize that in truly challenging games, any failure is the players fault. The player was unprepared, the player was unequiped, and so forth... Now I could go on about how Godhand, the game does the stupid thing of randomly raising difficulty, when I made the poor choice of actually doing well. So a game that punishes you for doing well, terrific. It's fine though, what happened to "reward the player for playing well, and punish them for not?" I shouldn't be killed by an enemy that wasn't there when I decided to tackle a room, and spawned in when the game wanted to punish me for nearly clearing it. It's a death I couldn't avoid, because there was no way to prepare for it being there, that's not a fair death. Godhand was great concept, just poorly executed. --- So he replies: "and how do I manage?" I dodge the blast, and apologize for collateral damage.
I didn't have a problem with it. To each their own though. Also, the only challenging part about Dark Souls is the first time through. Once you understand the game, it's rather simple. --- ~Gujin http://i39.tinypic.com/v830c3.jpg http://i45.tinypic.com/34o99hk.jpg http://i49.tinypic.com/23j1t9z.gif
