Capcom lowers their expectations for the fiscal year

#1_Uwye_Posted 2/4/2013 2:10:30 AM
http://www.siliconera.com/2013/02/04/dmc-devil-may-cry-ships-1-million-copies-forecast-lowered-to-1-2-million/

So they have gone from rebooting the franchise to reach a wider audience (throwing out an unofficial wish of 4~5 millions), to expecting 2 millions sales by march 31, to 1.2 millions shipped copies by march 31.

There's still people convinced that it's selling well?

Even that 1.2 Million looks far reaching imo...

Who was that guy that said it would sell 1.2 million?

I could sworn it was like KA_MA or KA_MO or something...

Oh wait. It was me. Called it.

I literally have no qualms about gloating on this subject.

1.2 millions lifetime or by the end of the fiscal year? Because if it's the latter I don't think it will sell that number. Shipping isn't the same as selling.

1.2 million lifetime. Trust me I know this game won't reach 1.2 million by the end of March. I just always stuck to 1.2 million. At least the number shows up :D

This is the closest I've ever come to predicting something, let me gloat a little :)

Somewhat related, Siliconera banned me for saying this.

Not a rant about his hair, or how the game sucks, just that a 86 on Metacritic won't put NT "On the Map" all things considered.

I think they are just mad because I said Sony did something better than Nintendo and Nintendo was following suit.

Don't ever say anything remotely bad about Nintendo there, even if all you said was basically "Now they are doing something sony did".

They will pull out every technicality and strawman they can.

Doesn't matter. Anyone and everyone who'd placed money into the Devil May Cry HD collection had already contributed to DmC's sequel.

Thinking a DMC 5 is going to rack in millions of sales is foolishness in this economy. Especially when first person shooters are the most popular of games.

What will people say about Bayonetta 2's sales? Did anyone notice how Sega dropped Platinum Games in the dirt when the game sold millions? Why? Because games like that aren't marketable in this economy. EXCEPT! God of War.
