I find if hilarious how every journalist is playing big brother for that hack of a company. So, NT insults theyr own fanbase, claim to be oh-so much better than companies like Platinum, never leaving that smug attitude untill it is too late, yet all they have to show it for are mediocre games, they even go as far as blame other companies of theyr own failures.... and what does the jouralists do when the game sells like crap? Blame people who arent interested in buying it, of course! Because, why would you side with people who have theyr favourite franchise ruined in front of theyr eyes by some smug bastards with a horrible track record, no, defend the funkers, and when in return people, GASP, refuse to buy the peace of crap game that they produced because its clearly broken on most fundamenta levels (like even a simple hit counter not dissapearing with time for instance), blame it on the people! Because NT clearly did such a fantastic job making this glitchy, cut-scene filled mess of a 6 hour effortless experiance that people SHOULD support them and this kind of videogame making, we NEED more crappy games like this because funk Japan and consistency! People NEED to buy games whenever they like them or not, and even though they had a demo and enough information on the web to deduct its not a game for them, no, they should ALL BUY IT, EVEN WHEN YOU DONT LIKE ACTION GAMES YOU MUST SUPPORT THIS MAGNIFICENT GEM OF A GAME, BUY DORITOS, BUY DORITOS, FUNK JAPAN AMERICA MOUNTAINDEEEEEEEW

.....sorry, kinda got carried away :P. Anyway, Im SO happy this game is flopping, this mess went on for far too long. I only hope that most people will learn from it, mostly Capcom.

You know what? Screw it, gotta dismantle this article, my brainache won't stop till I do so.

"DmC: Devil May Cry is going to fall well short of Capcom’s initial expectations for the game."
No **** it did, after Tameem putting a check his mouth can't cash and basically alienating the DMC fanbase, Capcom did no favors either...

"Capcom had originally forecast sales of 2m units by the end of its financial year. That has now been lowered to just 1.2m units, Eurogamer reports."
Even RE6 didn't get this bad...think about that.

"It’s potentially a sad end to a tale brought about very much by the fans themselves."
WHAT!?! Oh yes, ignore Tameem's and Alex Jones's bullcrap and talking **** about the fans that were a bit peeved over a reboot in the first place, the fact they made jokes about them in spite of the fact they were the target audience and word of mouth can do far more than simple review scores. Oh wait, this is also part of the "journalistic Integrity" we've seen from most "gaming journalists" about DmC in the first place...

Anyone who played Devil May Cry 4 must surely of seen how desperately the IP needed an injection of new ideas and modernisation – which is exactly what the skilful Ninja Theory achieved.
1. No the hell it did not. There was a reason DMC4 seemed more like Nero's story than Dante's...and that's because IT WAS. They can easily make 2-3 sequels on Nero's rise into being Dante's true successor, and even bring Heaven into the mix. And there's nothing stopping from doing that past making a random ass Reboot.

2. Skillful and Ninja Theory should NEVER be in the same sentence.

"Yet the fans revolted because Capcom dared to reinvent its IP for the 21st century and dared to change the colour of Dante’s hair. It’s really very sad."
What's really sad is why most "gaming journalists" wonder why they are a joke of true journalists and critics when real journalists and critics will likely know the reasons WHY rather than ASSUME that Ninja Theory has failed(keyword, it's not us, it's them)

"A headline suggested by a colleague: “Devil May Cry fans destroy brand out of spite.” That about covers it."
There's should be two headlines exactly after this:
"Team Ninja Theory destroys DmC and blames fans" and "Colleague and Writer of the Article gets fired"

DMC Fans on a Rampage

Another innocent victim is about to fall prey to the blind rage of DMC fans. Not content with the failure of DmC: Devil May Cry, a game that they swore to bring down by any means necessary due to the color of the game's protagonist's hair being changed, they now take fight to anybody who dares to even speak positively about said game. Their latest target has been Ben Parfitt, an accomplished videogame journalist of the British MCVUK, who recently published a controversial article, in which he spoke highly of DmC and its developer, Ninja Theory, and unintentionally blamed DmC's inability to meet Capcom's expectations and selling very poorly despite their best efforts on the fans of the series. Mr. Parfitt should of done his homework first before messing with those people however: DMC fans have been know as "Brand Killers" according to one of Ben's colleagues (who has also been under fire ever since the article has been published), and are a very dangerous bunch to mess with, despite just being a vocal minority... <see Page 6>

I agree with what you said except for the part about 2-3 sequels about Nero. If DMC went with Nero as the main character I wouldn't play those either. I hate Nero.

great post! you know if tameem and NT showed even a little respect to the series and fans it wouldnt be so bad. they could of said somthing like "we understand that fans of the series are upset with the changes to dante and the DMC universe, but we're really tring to bring a new feel to the series and we just ask they give it a try before judging to harshly." i would of had 100x more respect for them.

now i do agree alot of the outrage by fans was handled immaturely, but even if a child is crying and screaming at you cause they cant have somthing you dont go over and spit in its face. you calm them down and explain y they cant have it. NT spit right in the face of the fans and deserves w/e outcome happends to them.
