Just a joke name, since most of Atlus' fans are obese weeaboo neckbeards. Atlus itself, assuming you like the games it releases, is actually a decent publisher.

I liked the first Persona, back on the PS1. I never got too far though. That and I never got the whole mix-and-match monster thing to work for me.
