Hating on the game , disliking it..etc is just a part of the consumers' rights. Developers have the choice the to listen to the fans, not necessarily do what fans want, but to ensure the games' quality and sales by tuning the game into what the developer's desire in terms of quality while appealing to what people and fans want . Aside from that developers can ignore the fans and do what they want, it is their product after all. Some fans are selfish, some of their demands and feedback are important to tune the game into its best form, since they are consumers and they know what they want. It all comes to the outcome that the developer wants, a solid game or another marketing plot. Regarding DmC, developers ignored fans and tuned the game a little. Still, their product is crap and fans hate it wither it was the hair, character design or the dumped down gameplay. There is no legitimate reason to get the game, it is the consumers' freedom to get what he wants and for whatever reason, so is the case with developers when making games.

The fact is Capcom/NT told that fanbase "F*** you" and made a game that had no true connection to the original series --- Goku can lift a MINIMUM of 3.1212 quadrillion tons in base form, get it right ScrewAttack The official Valbanisher
From: thisranks | #030 The fact is all you are being is selfish if you dislike a game because it doesn't follow your definition of what DMC is. Well that's what happens when you change an established series for the worse. It happened with Final Fantasy 13 and now with DMC as well. We're not being selfish, we're just telling Capcom that they did something extremely stupid (which seems to have been the trend recently) and should change it back to how it was. Our definition of what DMC is and our dedication to it is what made the series the highest-selling 3D beat 'em up series in the first place, so we definitely deserve a say in the matter. Newcomers who have never played DMC before don't.

The only thing they won is the title for the worst fanbase of any game. I wonder if you guys even realize that a lot of people don't care about DMC and they look at you from the outside and laugh at what you represent. In the long run all the majority will ever remember is that DMC fans killed the series over the hair. They will remember death threats and petitions. They will not remember the real antis who disliked the game for real reasons because the trolls overshadow you. We could have easily given constructive critism and fought correctly for change. But the overall behavior was despicable and we don't deserve a true DMC game now.

hoagie727 posted... The only thing they won is the title for the worst fanbase of any game. people that framed the fanbase are developers, journalists and people like you. I'm not defending the fanbase, and i know that DMC's fanbase is actually one of the worst ( DMC1 fanboys and DMC4 haters). Still, the series got destroyed, and it was a solid one, it justifies such reactions. In the end, it is not about the fanbase deserving a game they want, it is capcom's product and it flopped; you don't have to buy something you don't like even if it was a result of a minor detail such as the hair. |
