Dark_Epathy posted...No one accuses you of being "illegitimate". Some people are ignorant and they discredit the fact that some games have such depth and potential. Also, some people that barley put any time on playing games act like they are have standards and they act like such things and exploits in games are necessary. You don't have to spend over 9 hours daily in exploiting games, a couple of hours if you can spare sometime will do.
My point is simply that some people don't approach a game with necessarily the same mindset, but that doesn't make them any less valid in terms of being a fan or consumer. You don't have to be a "hardcore" player (just bear with the term) to enjoy DMC or be a fan of the series.
Obviously I don't condone people who dismiss the original series as having little depth or being bad. These are people who are interested more in irritating others, or they feel like they've been vilified and feel like doing the same to the other "side."
All I ask is that I'm not vilified, either directly or indirectly, just because I play games with different priorities (i.e. the experience and not necessarily developing skill). I don't believe any DMC game was ever made with the intention of being solely for a single, fairly small demographic, and drawing lines between people who "get it" and "don't get it" is only making divisions worse.
And I admit I've done that in the past. Let's just accept that we all have different expectations and priorities when it comes to games. But I do agree with you that there are people interested in fanning the flames just to spark reactions.
Don't take these people seriously.
This is getting out of hand with journalists and NT's claims that the only complaints are about the hair.I simply dislike the idea of dumping down all of what DMC build in this game, and we get a new fanbase, journalists and developers that promote such acts that hurt the genre and series more.
They did well in DMC4 and 3 when they introduced easy-automatic.They can also introduce new things like the tutorials for high level play or encourage players and give them an idea of the game's potential, instead of forcing everyone to play a dumped down crap then advertise it as being a step forward.
People can have fun without getting to such extreme levels, but having a quality game with potential is always the better option.
