My friend says DmC is an RPG.

It isn't? There's RPGs that have only one playable character?

Dragon Warrior/Quest 1 had a solitary playable character, Ragnarok Odyssey has a single playable character (unless you go co-op), Diablo 1 and 2 had solitary characters (unless you go co-op), etc.

There's a few of them. I'm probably not even grazing the surface.

The Ys series falls into this category too.

Have any of the games ever let you play as anybody but Adol?

Wait, I'm confused. Do you think I'm talking about quoting his post or yours, because I was talking about yours.

I know. I know that you were talking about mine. But I really couldn't tell if Pes was joking or not this time. Looks like he pulled a fast one on me. :P

Tell me you're not serious. Please.

I actually am. Mostly because I can't tell with Pes. He teases everyone, but there's times when he's serious, too. :P

Fable, Elder Scrolls, Mass Effect, Deus Ex, Dark Souls, Dragons Dogma, Alpha Protocol and a lot more.

There's a lot of RPG games with only one playable character.

Wow, so it's true. I wonder if Pes knew that? :P Anyway, thanks for the info.

Devil Summoner, Devil Summoner 2.

You only ever get to directly control Raidou in both of them.

Blood Omen had a single playable character as well, along with Tales of Phantasia SNES and Star Ocean SNES (You could only use the MC of both)

Ys Origin has three playable characters and an unlockable Adol, as well as Ys Celceta no Jukai and Ys Seven.

Alright my friend just restated his idea behind why DmC is an RPG. He says you are taking the "ROLE" as Dante and thus it is a "Hack and Slash RPG Hybrid". And if you guys think he's trolling, he's not; he's really taking this sh*t seriously (Which is seriously f***ing my head SO hard). JHSGFJASGFJAGSFJAG *loses it*

Street Fighter is an RPG because you take on the role of Ryu.

Halo is an RPG because you take on the role of Master Chief.

Also, your friend is a moron, just sayin'.
