The article explains the difference between input lag and response time for HDTVs; they are important in games that require execution and split time inputs like 1-frame links.
If you don't want to read that, scroll to the part about ninja gaiden and fast paced action games like DMC. That is why DmC is a dumped down game.
Note: games with large open environment, changing platforms and elevation ( DmC's dynamic background+changing platforms), heavy animations, large amount of items and small particles, have a large potential amount of input lag, especially for 30fps games, where they have a potential 100+ms of lag, 60 Fps games have probably 60ms or 30ms taking into account the controller, screen and console lag. Input lag is the time that an input takes to be processed and registered, and response time is the time to display that.
Research more on interviews; Kojima stated that he wanted 60fps. Another journalist site discussed the issue of fps in DmC and fighting games.
Input lag affects anyone from the professional or hardcore gamers, to average gamers. It hinders the abilities of the player to react properly and kills the enjoyment and fun for any game by having sluggish controls and response time from the game. |
DarkSymbiotePosted 2/17/2013 7:04:22 AM | I know Kojima wanted 60 FPS. He asked Platinum personally. But as long as 60 FPS is limited to HnS, racers, sports and fighting games, I am alright.
I can't take it seriously in other genres. --- My Resident Evil 6 Review| My XCOM: Enemy Unknown Review http://bitly.com/Z2CT6n | http://bit.ly/RJGjrn |

I can't take it seriously in other genres. Actually , it affects others like shooters, if you want precision and fun. That is why cod and counter strike are popular, and the latter has many tournaments and serious players. High frame rate should be a standard for games, for precision and fun, because games are supposed to.. games? you play for challenge and graphics are not the first priority. |

Jack_Ryder_2013Posted 2/17/2013 7:49:39 AM | I really dont get the complaint, it just to me sounds like pc elite-ists putting a number on something to make them feel better. I have both ps3 and the pc version sure the pc version you have mods and all kinds of things added too it. you get a much more full experience but the fps number in this game I could care less about as long as it runs smoothly and is a blast to play and it is. Again if you really want a reason to play the pc one check out the mods They even have an ebony and ivory classic mod and a mod that makes the dmc3 costume even more like the original |
