SilentS89 posted...DmC is a downgrade. Supporting it is supporting downgrading the franchise. Supporting DmC tells Capcom that it is OK to downgrade the features of future games because the customers will accept it.
Christ, everyone's a drama queen these days.
1) Don't support it then. But don't be a dick if someone else finds it fun and decides to. Again, gaming is supposed to be about fun, not being a pretentious dick to anyone who doesn't share your "no true gamer" standards. Also, blaming the customer for the company's practice is shifting the blame. Vote with your wallet, write a complaint to the company, organize a (successful) boycott (with more than a handful of people)...All of those have an effect. You know what doesn't? Whinging at people who just want to have a good time.
2) If the game is a flop, in what way does Capcom get that message? Just out of curiosity's sake. And don't try and tell me, "Only because we antis did our part!" The game flopped because it didn't appeal to most people, myself included. Your presence on a message board for the last two years wouldn't have stopped me if I'd found the game fun. End of story.
EDIT: Also, realistically? DmC is the tip of the iceberg when it comes to Capcom's "bad practices" supported by gamers. It's just a bad game. Not really indicative of anything other than a bad game. But rereleasing DMC3, a DMC collection, and then the same collection again with HD...Can't say you aren't contributing to a precedent there.
