DmC: Devil May Cry

I wonder how they are feeling now after the game's release and abysmal sales? NPD figures are here so there are no more doubts and excuses left.

I wish I felt that confident about how they'll interpret the bad sales, but I'm pretty sure that Capcom's too stupid/stubborn to admit that they were wrong about this. Not to mention that their minds are likely just too... warped to realize why fans are so upset. All of the evidence that I've seen points towards Capcom being psychotic in terms of their paradigm. I will s*** myself if there are no more excuses.

Hell, they're just now realizing that people want RE to go back to survival horror.

Brilliant! I wonder how long the articles telling us how it's all our fault for not buying mediocre games.

In that thread the pros are making excuses that the overall genre is dying and presenting NG3 and DmC as proof. LOL! The genre is NOT dying; people just do not buy bad games or games that they never wanted. NG3 and DmC both suffered because of casuazlization and greed of the publishers. They wanted more sales/money and in the end they lost even what they already had. Gamers only bought those games for hardcore gameplay and when the gameplay was not there, they left. Hardcore HnS is a niche market and you cannot mess with a niche market because you risk losing all the fans while gaining no or little new ones.

So you'd prefer they re-released the game and made people buy it again for Bloody Palace like DMC3?

These complaints are just asinine, from comments he made several months before release it was clear they hadn't planned on making a BP mode but after they had so many fans asking about it they decided to add it in, they didn't get it finished before the game came out and are giving it out for free, what the hell is people's problem with this? It's such a stupid complaint to make.

Wait until GoW comes out, if the sales for that game are low as well then maybe they can claim that. Don't know that it will though.

Not disagreeing with your point about BP, but this statement in general. I can only assume you're a "pro" based on this sentence - every pro tries to put down the past games to make the new one better, it's old really. DMC3 was out in a time where DLC was NOT prevelent AND PS2s weren't constantly connected to the internet like consoles are now. Heck, most people I know didn't even know PS2 could connect to the net, let alone that there was no system setup to get downloads and DLC from. I understand your point about BP mode, but make it another way. This one makes you look weak and dumb, and your point is better than that.

No, it should be on the disc, for free, at launch like it's predecessor DMC4.

Really? I think cutting out features that the predecessors had is asinine. Around these parts we call that a downgrade.

Why is that acceptable? DMC4 got it finished, why do NT get a pass for their failure to meet the features of the predecessors? "Because reboot" No, rebooting isn't a license to downgrade the franchise.

Probably because they were working on Downfall, so Capcom could cut it out of the game and sell it.
