DMC1 Dante is the one true Dante. Every other iteration of him is a different character of various degrees. In DMC2 he's a calm, powerful guy, much like Vergil. In DMC3 he's a crazy kid looking for fun most of the time. And in DMC4 he's a drunk, stupid bastard.

Finally, DmC Dante is irrelevant.
