It's sad to say it but Devil May Cry has never been very popular. It's popular but it's kind of underground popular. Doesn't matter what pros or antis say...

Check it out.

Devil May Cry entire series gross = 13.45 (Wut? Lol)
http://www.vgchartz.com/gamedb/?name=Devil+May+cry&publisher=&platform=&genre=&minSales=0&results=200

God of War entire series gross = 20.30 (Best hack and slash sales)
http://www.vgchartz.com/gamedb/?name=God+of+war&publisher=&platform=&genre=&minSales=0&results=200

Ninja Gaiden entire series gross = 4.88 (What!? nooo.)
http://www.vgchartz.com/gamedb/?name=Ninja+Gaiden&publisher=&platform=&genre=&minSales=0&results=200

Metal Gear entire series gross = 33.87 (I thought it'd be higher too.)
http://www.vgchartz.com/gamedb/?name=Metal+gear+

Tomb Raider entire series gross = 30.46 (About right.)
http://www.vgchartz.com/gamedb/?name=Tomb+Raider&publisher=&platform=&genre=&minSales=0&results=200

Grand Theft Auto entire series gross = 107.62 (Yeah.)
http://www.vgchartz.com/gamedb/?name=Grand+Theft+auto&publisher=&platform=&genre=&minSales=0&results=200

Call of Duty entire series gross = 161.07 ( I knew it!)
http://www.vgchartz.com/gamedb/?name=Call+of+duty&publisher=&platform=&genre=&minSales=0&results=200

Megaman entire series gross = 23.40 (not so popular hm? Could this be why there isn't a sequel? Megaman dropping in popularity..)
http://www.vgchartz.com/gamedb/?name=Mega+man&publisher=&platform=&genre=&minSales=0&results=200

I do wonder though, with DMC not being so popular. Why would there be people forcing a backlash against it trying to solve the problem of it's underground status? Of course for those of you who believe in games that "fail", you'll see that alot of these games had previous ones that sold poorly and still got a sequel.

So, there's no wound to throw salt in. New Fans of DmC have as much of a chance as the original fans. Which is a win win situation for me. I don't care which comes or even if the series just disappears completely.

I understand that DMC was never "Tomb Raider" or "Metal Gear Solid". But dammit, that doesn't stop it from being stylish!
You will not forget this devils power!

Why would there be people forcing a backlash against it trying to solve the problem of it's underground status?

It's underground for a reason, and people like it for that. In trying to broaden its appeal, Capcom and Ninja Theory reduced or removed some of the attributes its fanbase enjoyed. So, the fans (well, the most ardent of them) cause a backlash because they don't want to see the series become something it's not.

But it does make sense for Capcom to try and broaden the appeal. If there's an IP sitting there, they'll want to do something with it. Mega Man is sort of a special case, since the series creator left Capcom, and it may be they have no real ideas as to what to do with it.

And the MML3 debacle is still very fresh.

How do they know what was removed and what was added wont appeal to them too if they don't play it? It's the most senseless backlash I've ever heard.

Hypocrite.

You went on and on about how DmC sold so badly on VGcharts. Trolled new fans of the DmC series and now, out of nowhere it doesn't matter? It's not accurate information?

You ma'am, are a very bad person and now your trolling is more than obvious.
