Where are the PC sales?

Not up. It's at most 100,000 units up to now. AT MOST

Then that doesn't sound like a flop to me. A flop would be it not making more than its production costs, at least not enough to make another.

Does anyone know what it cost Capcom to make? That's been asked in other threads, but I don't think anybody knows.

If each copy was sold at $59.99+tax, then we're talkin' almost 39 million gross.
---
Maybe video games should cost less money and take less time to make. Because $60 a pop isn't worth it.

Using the same mocap studio that did avatar can't have been cheap. Also add a portion of the sales money goes to Epic because they used UE and also a portion if it goes to Valve for using Steam...capcom lost money.

Then I suppose that's why Tameem wrote the story. They couldn't afford to sub it out like their previous titles.

Plus, $59.99 is just the retail price. Wal-Mart, Best Buy, GameStop, and the like are not paying Capcom that much for the game.

Estimates are that it cost $25-$30 million to make, and publishers get around 60% of the money from a sale. So, if you believe that it's sold 650K copies (realistically it probably sold a little less), Capcom has made about $23.5 million.

The guy that wrote Enslaved was still supervisor to the writing. But seeing as how he hated Tamtams writing when he was brought on for Enslaved I think he was just there in name only and never did anything.

I believe that I read that it took NT four years...

So they were paid 5.9 million for developing.

Wait...did they get paid up front, or are they taking a cut of the profits? Spread out, that's shy of a mil and a half a year.

Are people really that delusional that they think this can actually be a hit after sales expectations were reduced two times? Really? Really?

Yea, kinda like RE6's expectations were reduced. Major flop.

You're not doing this, please just...

RE6's sales were 4 times that of DmC's estimated target for the end of the fiscal year, you can't compare them.

I guess you guys can't read. So I'll just highlight:

Well actually in the video game industry, 1 million is a hit:

I doubt that... especially when they took a series who's best selling title was at 2 million... and rebooted it for the sole purpose of acquiring MORE sales. That definitely wouldn't be my definition of a "hit." Maybe it was a new IP, but this was anything but...

Except you know, the expected sales for RE6 were reduced from 7 million to 5 million and the game still sold 4.7 million units, just shy of the second target. DmC's sales were reduced from 5 million to 2 million to 1.2 million and are still middling around 700000 units even now. So yeah, stop being an unrealistic baby and suck it up. DmC isn't a hit by any stretch of the word.

Yeah, I got no idea on that, although I kind of doubt that Capcom paid NT up front. Also, to clarify the game probably cost closer to $25 million than $30 million, and that's including the marketing budget.
