Would you mind? - Results (70 votes)
Of course, they need to stick to the original series or nothing at all!

I would probably mind, but that depends on how similar/different this reboot is

Maybe, if it's a good game I wouldn't mind

As long as it's not DmC, I'm fine with it

That would be great, the series DID need a reboot, it's just that DmC wasn't a good one.

This poll is now closed.
But this time it actually stays true to the series and resembles it more or less.

I personally would be bothered because I want to find out what happens in the original series or at least give it a proper ending, but I wouldn't mind too bad as long as it's actually Devil May Cry and not just some other IP with swapped names.

The original series already had a great ending, with Mundus being sealed away, not being able to come back in the next 2000 years. There is no one else able to be a challenge to Dante. Dante is the Dark Knight now, just like Trish stated.

Dante is now working with Trish and they both solve demon cases and they both ( now including Lady, after DMC 3) help people. DMC 3 did retcon some stuff, but it was a perfect prequel.

Too bad it was called DMC 3. It should have been called DMC 0. DMC 2 and 4 didn't happen, considering they don't even exist. DMC 2 isn't even a decent sequel and DMC 4 is just a joke, a parody and a waste of time, The only difference between DMC 2 and 4 is the fact that DMC 4 had a good and exciting gameplay, but it was a waste of time. DMC 2 on the other side, it was horrible, but the villain was better.

Arius is way better than Sanctus. I mean, you fight a flying ld man and this guy is the last boss of a game called DMC 4.

Capcom has no idea about how to deal with the series. I think the reboot came to try something different, instead of wasting time with sequels ( dmc 2 AND 4) that didn't work. What a shame.

So, DMC main plot is over,

Sometimes reboots ( games or movies) are better than the original ones.

Did you see Dredd? It was amazing, awesome, much better than that crap movie with Stallone.

It's funny that Alex Gartland ( who worked at DmC) also worked as being Dredd's writer. XD

Sidestories are almost always good or even better.

I fell bad for playing DMC 2 and 4 after playing DMC 1 and 3.

Trust me, it's really sad watching something amazing being damaged by bad and not needed games ( DMC 2 and 4).

At least, you know how I'm feeling now. XD
