Age is a terrible excuse when its predecessor did everything better basically proving that age had nothing to do with it. Itsuno made a horrible game by the standards of rhen. Ps 1 games had better ai and weapon variety, lol at age being used as damage control. I kno u wanna bash DmC but don't sugar coat dmc 2s awfulness to do so
By the standards of the time DMC2 was a perfectly average game if with severe flaws. The market wasn't swimming in GoW clones yet and hack and slash games weren't even a twinkle in most people's eyes. The game is dated and has aged even worse compared to its predecessor and sequel but let's not kid ourselves here. When the game was released it wasn't getting accolades but I distinctly remember magazines handing out 70/100 grades for the most part.
DmC was born awful. It's a game that thinks the 90's dark age of comics was a good thing and that being dark and edgy for the sake of it is troo art. --- Frank Zappa is God. Fact. King of Heroes, do you have enough swords?!
What Rising Shadow said. I don't say that DMC2 was anything good (It was average when released and it aged poorly) but the AI is still better than DmCs. --- Goodbye Bubbles, dearest of pets. DMC2 wasn't even intended to be a DMC game to begin with. It was an action game that they forced Itsuno and his team to hastily remake into a DMC title to cash in on DMC1's success. Things like guns being overpowered kinda you know, make sense in that light. It's obvious the focus of the game was on guns and melee weapons were tacked on.
FINALLY!! Someone else who knows the proper story! --- My harem - http://i67.photobucket.com/albums/h297/NIck_Kazama/bunnyharuhi.jpg
