How does DmC stack up to other inferior Western action games?

#21syctheweilderPosted 5/7/2013 2:59:29 PM(edited)
The Darksiders games get double honors for being not only one of the best western action games in recent memory, but also being the best Zelda games since the Wnd Waker.

And yes that is only because Zelda's in the toilet right now, but hey.

And? Look at the user scores.
Or even better, look at the sales.
Or even better, notice how half the Rising reviews were "BAWWWWW IT'S TOO HARD FOR ME WHY IS THERE NO BLOCK OR DODGE"

No doubt the sales were bad, but the user score is tainted by butthurt fans who gave the game a 0 or 1 without even playing it. You'd be crazy to deny this.

And I only played the demo for MGR so I can't speak for the whole game, but that demo was a cakewalk. All enemies gave you a full heal, gekkos were easy to kill once they stomped the ground, and LQ-84i could be stunlocked to death by the slide.

You mean a demo for a game was easy so you could get into it? Wow, never seen that before.

Yes, MGR's normal and hard modes aren't too difficult, but Very Hard and Revengeance? Probably some of the hardest levels I've played in the last decade.

Why are so many people unable to think for themselves these days?

Why are so many people unable to accept the fact that critics and major gaming publications (you know, people who actually have some kind of relevance to the gaming industry, unlike you guys) like DmC more than MGR? ;)

Ha ha ha ha. You're so funny. Because DmC was paid to get high scores. We all saw it with how TamTam thanked X-Box Magazine for giving the game a 9 before the game came out then the tweet was deleted that quick and then they posted that very same score.

Plus put the reviews right next to each other and you'll see they all say the same thing like they were copy and pasted.

You probably think that Call of Duty deserves perfect scores don't you if you think critics matter? (Saying yes proves me right anyway).

Sales talk. Not reviews. You can have all the *** kissing reviews in the world but the game will still flop as hard as DmC.

LOL at Implying that DmC > El Shaddai.

I'm not implying it...I'm saying it straight out. El Shaddai is a bad game. DmC is a mediocre one.

Or that Lord of inputLag is the best western action game.

What's better in recent memory? You could definitely make an argument that, for their time, Oni and Blade of Darkness stand as the best the West had/has to offer (back in a time when the East/West gap wasn't so huge). But nowadays, I don't think there's any Western action title that stands head and shoulders above LoS.

At least El Shaddai is art. As in actual good art. It's the most beautiful game ever made by a landslide, had a pretty good story with interesting takes on religious figures, and great music.
The gameplay may have been a little bad but it wasn't really THAT bad. Plus it came out of a small studio and you can really feel the amount of effort and heart put into the project.
Whereas DmC is a soulless hollow shell without good graphics, story, or music. Or gameplay.

What I'm saying is El Shaddai is way better than DmC.

Honestly I'd recommend playing on Easy. The combat just isn't really good. It is surprisingly challenging I guess because of how little health you have, but it's not much fun to play despite all 3 weapons being cool.
Also it kind of sucked to not have all 3 weapons at once. I mean, just looking at the way he sheathes his weapons he could have them all.

The Veil turns into a shield on his right arm.
The Gale and its paper planes goes onto his back.
The Arch folds up and goes on the back of where his belt would be. So they all rest in different positions, it seems like he could hold more than one at once. And it would probably even look really cool for him to be fully geared.

That said the motorcycle part is extremely fun. I'd like for a racing game to play like that.

So you're saying that critics who rate an objectively amazing game 3/10 while lying about the game's mechanics and bashing it because it's oh so hard are credible sources?

This why no one likes you casuals.

Doesn't hold a candle to Ghostbusters :D

Sure, Metacritic has it rated as 78 or 79, and the user score is about the same, but it's still s***loads better than DmC.

You mean random schmoes with writing degrees pretending to have authority and working for websites that are directly funded by advertisements of prooducts they critize, versus, the actual consumers that somehow has no relevance to the industry.

I see shatter isnt even needed for this level of stupidity these days.

GoW is better than LoS. at least the first two ran at 60 fps.
