And I'm curious - What has the DmC community produced lately? I don't really see much of any worthwhile buzz around here outside of that one guy who did the Demo/Release/Vergil content. Does this game even have an active combo video scene anymore all of seven months after release?

This is what the community and the game did in all that time.

Found a bunch of videos:

These are the latest, so dunno if the community has anything better to offer (or if it even exists), but these particular videos don't even look comparable to your average TST entry for any other DMC game. Yet, the players label them "COMBO MAD" and try to pass it as some sort of epic combo montage. Why?

An this is weird, wasn't there a contest of some sort, ran by either Capcom or NT, I forget which? Would be funny if official™ TST tournament fails when the fan-made ones succeeded multiple times before.

Dunno lol.

There are more stuff to do and discover with juggles, Lucifer glitch and flying guard.

About DmC..... nope.jpg.

The game mechanics and physics are the main thing that is limiting the combat potential. The only new things that I've seen were discovered by DMC players and they include chargeshot canceling, moving around in the air with demon dodge and glide rave; chargeshot canceling can function similarly to RG in the air - to alter the altitude - and demon dodge/angle dodge in the air are like skystar or flying guard but dumbed down compared to DMC.

I haven't seen combo videos for any game that much up to DMC 3 and 4.

And since it has been a while since those games came out it makes me think there won't be any more games that will come out and match them.

Even if there is a real DMC 5 and that is a big if, it still won't be like the old days.

maybe... but on the upside it'd still be better than DmC

I'd also meant to say as well about the game looking slow, if fan modders could implement a Turbo Mode I fail to see how *cough* "professionals" at Ninja Theory couldn't implement one themselves.

Actually, I believe the modders didn't have to do much at all. If memory serves, NT actually did the work to try to have gameplay speed scale with style rating which the higher you go, the more of a rhythm Dante got into until the gameplay was at about 15% faster, sort of similar to God Hand's Level system which... actually given how slow, execution lax and mashy this game is, is not a terrible choice for DmC.

But then they probably actually tried doing that at 30 frames and realized what a terrible idea that was because they had to half-ass it with U3.
