I know that but it would have been a way to unite the faceless corporation with a tangible antagonist for purposes of wrapping up the story.

I just imagined Lando running around with a blaster in the Spanish woods surviving and shooting Hutts. That would have been awesome.

Anyways. Capcom doesn't have the talent to finish off and write a great story. DMC and RE jump all over the place, cut off every story development and just add in new main characters to divert focus. Than you have SB that is just random as hell. Fighting games never have stories interesting enough to care about. Megaman is spread out over 6+ universes. Onimusha was probably the most interesting, and even that had constant time skips.

My question is: Who the hell goes looking for Capcom when they want a great story? It's not their strong point.

The time skips are annoying as all hell so I agree there. But they're probably intentional so Capcom can continue milking the series for all its worth with spinoffs to fill in the gaps within the time skips.

I want them to milk it more by making the remade version of resident evil 2, the re1 remake was amazing why not do same with 2 and 3?  the first 3 games are fond memories filled with fright and sweaty hadns and nerves that were shot hours ago while playing but with steady mountain dew are able to keep places one foot over the other.
