I though it was a fairly good game. It made some gameplay improvements from RE4 like being able to switch weapons/use items in real time which kept the pace of the action, made meele attacks better, and more weapon variety. The game co-op is also lots of fun and Mercenaries is very addicting. Is it because of the lack of survival horror elements that the series was once known for or that fans had their expectations too high thanks to RE4's huge success (which is probably more of the latter)?
RE5 was great, it was not as amazing or ground breaking as RE4, but it really grew on me and I loved it enough to play through a second time and get the highest ranking on nearly all the mercenaries maps (I am almost always done with a game when I beat it once). I hope this game grows on me the same way, so far I am enjoying the experience but it is nothing like RE 4 or 5.
