I personally vote Resident Evil 2, it was a brilliant game that contained everything that made RE 1 great, and made substantial improvements in the voice acting and storyline. F***ing love that game and always will. Remake is a close second though.

When facing a zombie apocalypse, don't join up with a group. Why? Because you'll end up blowing your own head off due to all the pointless drama caused within.

Code Veronica. Best story, has the most backtracking, and got pretty much everything right.

RE 3, its a improvement over 2 that adds more improvements and Nemesis is greater to fight compared to you know who , Jill, Live Selections, Ammo Creation, Timely Dodges

Second is REmake, then Revelations, Zero, CVX, RE 2, RE 4, RE 6, RE 5

This. CV is underrated. Probably the best story in the franchise, even from the VA standpoint. Claire + Chris, you cant go wrong. Wesker debuts his powers. Wesker and Chris slug it out, while Claire has an amazing scene when Steve turns/dies. Just Amazing.

RE6. Not without flaws but got a lot of things right, though it took them too long.

There is no such thing as a "Quick Time Event done right".
A game that has Quick Time Events is a "video game done wrong".

RE6.

LOL.

I actually change my mind on this often because my top 3 are all SO close. I have to honestly give the edge to RE2, though, because it was the first RE game that I actually played and completed, and it was really the game that allowed me to fall in love with the genre and the series. It's the quintessential old school survival horror experience.

1. RE2
2. RE4
3. REmake
(although my top 3 are all extremely close)
4. RE5
5. RE3 (although I do need to beat it again, since it's been like 11+ years)
6. RE0 (still a solid game, though)
7. CVX (I never actually beat it, though, so it'll probably jump up a bit when I do)
9. RE6

RE2

LOL

RE6. Over the top, intense, story where Leon and Chris finally meet, with my favorite RE controls to date. Not to mention my favorite mercenaries overall.
