DanielSpace79, I need to update the tier list, but still haven't figured out how to edit the board. Don't even know if it's possible. If it isn't possible then I'm just gonna re-post the entire topic. The only changes that really need to be made are Leon (Costume) and Helena's position. And I also need to mark Jake & Chris as a tie. Enough fans have come to me about Jake that I can't ignore it any longer. His pros are still one of the best though, so i'm making it a tie.

Anyway, how does a creator edit their own board?

I believe it's something like facebook and you can only edit your post within an hour or so- after that you can only delete it. I *think* that's the case, but I might be wrong. If that is true, then it's pretty silly :D

that is how it works.
@ nohopelegend, you can edit post within an hour after posting, and can do so by going to the message, click message detail below the quote option.
you will see an option further down the page that says edit this post, or something like that.

How disappointing. It appears that it doesn't give you an option to edit posts. So here's the plan,
tomorrow morning I am going to close this topic, and then re-post the updated tier list. Before I do, is there anything that anyone would like to say before I finalize it again?

My personal opinion on the top two ranks:

S Tier:
Carla
Sherry EX
Jake

A Tier:
Chris
Sherry
Helena

IMO, Carla, Sherry EX, and Jake make up the holy trinity at the top because they're above the rest. Chris comes close, but he does face some challenges. Having no herbs is a pain, and although he has the most brutal counters, his CDG is crap.

Carla has tons of firepower and eats up bosses with her grenade launcher. Having all 3 different types of ammo is big, plus she gets some really nice melee setups. Sherry EX has everything, tons of healing, great firepower with her weapon selection, flash grenades to set up multiple CDGs. Her counters are tricky to use, but if you're swapping between her 2-handed weapons and grenade, she won't have a problem one-shotting most enemies. Jake is at the top for obvious reasons already explained.

Helena may be arguable but I feel she's very underrated. Acid rounds are amazing! She has a great weapon selection, and she starts out with a good amount of health tablets to keep herself sustained. Sherry default again has lots of things going for her just like her EX version: tons of healing, amazing boss-killer and combo-saver weapon with the magnum, and the stun rod is quite good against armored enemies and in closed spaces. One smack with the rod sets up melee roundhouse kick, which is useful if you need a quick GTFO move in case you're being swarmed.

Jake
Cons:
- Not that good of a counter.

Power Counter + Jake + Any Zombie Stage = One hit kills galore
It's nearly as fast as Chris' shoulder rush with PC on.
How is Jake not good counter material on zombie maps? Unless your talking about J'avo maps only.

Oh, when I made my list I didn't consider any skills. :P
I'm pretty sure almost all character do great with Power Counter, exceptions are Helena2 in Mining the Depths for some reason.. I don't know if the same could be applied to Piers and Agent since they all share the same counter.

And Jake's damage is probably good but his counter's range/hit box is not that good to be honest.

Very fair enough, I never tested Jake without PC or splash damage shots (weakening zombies before the counter) so I admit I jumped the gun a little bit.
My apologies.

Well...PC doesn't affect the animation speed...just adds 25% damage to the attack. Against grabbing zombies (that do the double arm swoop hold instead of the punch attack) Jake does not get low enough and remains in the hitbox for the attack for a few frames during the counter animation- increasing the chances of the counter whiffing and being grabbed instead.

Jake's standard counter typically does OHKO on punching zombies in MtD and in TC. It does NOT one hit kill grabbing zombies, even with PC equipped. The only exceptions tend to be when the Jake lines up the attack perfectly straight which almost never happens since the damned zombies always circle and attack at the same time.

Most of the zombies in Urban Chaos are punchers so Jake with PC is great there.

But most of the zombies in Mining the Depths are grabbers, making Jake a liability unless you are proficient at 'shoot and counter' or are only focusing on countering enemies with weapons.

The Catacombs features a solid mixture of both. Zombies 1-38 or so have a very high chance of swooping, then primarily punch until @ 80. When the leaping zombies come at 100, they will all do the grab attack in close proximity making it tougher for Jake to one hit kill- especially given how aggressive they are, his almost zero hitbox against the enemy (meaning hardly any chance for knockback or double/triple ) make his countering skills sub par compared to an Ada/Carla, or Chris shoulder raise counter.

Hey now, it's my fault that I wasn't clear enough with I wrote my list!

That's kinda why I said "nearly", the crouching start up is the only reason why I stated Chris seems to have the better start up speed in that counter attack :p

Quick shot always knocked them out of that animation for me and usually on MiD a lot of the zombies are carrying weapons. My usual method would be to side step that animation and counter the zombies with weapons. By the time the fallen unarmed zombie is on his feet, it usually tries to counter grab me. The firemen being released early is the only factor as to why I think power counter sucks on MiD due to their health being just a tad more higher which isn't a problem after shooting them a few times in the chest.

It really comes down to 'Arm Counters' and 'Leg Counters' against 'Enemy Attack Type' with 'Stage'

For MtD and TC (Standard zombies, not firemen or bsaa agents that have more defense)

Against punching zombies- The 'Arm Counters' (Jake, Helena, Agent, Piers) will one-hit will have a high success rate of one-hit kill on MtD and TC without PC equipped

Against grabbing zombies, the opposite is true and the sweepers (Sherry and Leon) will one-hit kill with PC equipped.

Ada and Carla will one hit kill grabbers without PC equipped, but will rarely one hit kill punchers

Chris will one hit kill grabbers AND punchers in this stage without PC equipped

2-handed weapons with PC will typically mimic the 'arm counters' and OHKO punching zombies, but will not OHKO grabbers

In Urban Chaos- it's basically the same exact list, but the zombies have more defense, so none of the characters do OHKOs without Power Counter. Even with PC equipped:

Jake, Helena, Piers, Agent will OHKO punchers but will not OHKO grabbers

Carla, Ada, Sherry, Leon will OHKO grabbers, but will not OHKO punchers (unless they have a 2-handed weapon equipped)

Chris (1 handed) or Chris EX will OHKO both sets if PC is equipped.

Hope all of this helps!
