When a J'avo takes enough damage, it will eventually transform into a cocoon called a Chrysalid. Once the cocoon hatches, a different creature like a Napad or Strelat will come out of the shell. Does the game ever explain what creature is determined when it comes out of a Chrysalid? Or is the creature that comes out random?

I am curious because when Carla infects Chris' comrades in Edonia, they all turn into Napads. But when she injects Marco in China, he turns into the Queen Bee mutation. Is it random or is there an actual way to determine what comes out of the cocoon?

From what I've played, it's not random, it's scripted, like...how the parasites in RE4 are random but the ones in 5 will be the same ones from the same guys everytime.

I think he means story reasons.
