Old RE fans are easy to please

For the people who believe that Capcom killed RE by going Nintendo-exclusive, then how do you explain their not porting REmake?

RE4 did will enough to be worth scaling down to the PS2. But apparently REmake did not justify the effort. As REmake was the epitome of a truly WONDERFUL remake, apparently old-school RE fans dropped the ball in supporting the game. (Or there weren't enough of them)

Nintendo are holding the rights for remake with a death grip...

But they let RE4 go? RE4 was also part of the exclusivity deal.

Was there an article about this? Because that's really interesting.

Edit: Some quick searching the Capcom boards first suggested that RE0 and REmake received funding from Nintendo and that's why.

But then later on in the same thread, it was said that Sven of Capcom Unity confirmed Nintendo does not hold any rights on those games. At least anymore.

I mostly get sick of new RE because it doesn't require a thought process. Like, even on the first playthrough.

It's the other way around. You get sick because you play them without thinking

also - lol @ someone suggesting RE6 has better gameplay than CoD/Gears. Half of the mechanics aren't necessary and the cover mechanic is horrible.

All the mechanics in RE6 are useful. And the cover system gives you more freedom as well. You are simply not (or refuse to get) used to them.

The essence of "depth" is still the same as RE4, stun -> melee. This wouldn't be an issue if the series had gameplay that wasn't entirely focused on combat, but it no longer does.

It's like saying Street Fighters is fireball -> combo.
And yeah. There are people who play 3rd Strike like SF2 and think they are the same.

exploration
ambient music
emphasis on puzzles
non-excessive combat
level design that isn't brainless
epistolary exposition

I can think of one perfect game for you (If you haven't played it yet).

Vagrant Story.

Then again, you may not be a fan of fantasy games or hate it for involving too much thinking.

You don't need to think to play them. Never are you wondering where to go or how to progress and the combat isn't challenging. Viewing pornography is a better mindless pastime.

Capcom's decision to change the franchise into an action shooter and over emphasize combat would be better received if it was done well. Gears, Vanquish and CoD are all way more stream-lined and seamless, from the controls to the online experience.

For example, why do we still have a clunky inventory and healing items?
Auto-regen would solve the problem.

They want to cater to every single audience and RE6 is an incoherent mess as a result.

I'll bite. What would be a good inventory system? The only problems I had in this game is that in your "sub item" menu, items that you don't have take up space hindering quick switching. And not having a place for weapons you don't want on your person. The last one is only relevant in multiple playthroughs and Ada's story.
