[POLL] Character Movement Controls

Not sure when anyone ever said that.

Many, many, many times throughout my visits here, as observed since 2009 (when things got heated up during the release of RE5).

People are quick to use a half-ass "majority" reasoning to win arguments, like "10 people in this thread agree with me, so we're the majority", which is sometimes followed by "what you see in this thread/board is representative of the general consensus/overall community".

I'm glad GameFAQs started including polls.

I like tank controls for nostalgia, but ultimately I liked RE5's controls best.

(Q) Whats the difference between a hacker and a booster? (A) They both use different unlegit methods to achieve the same goal.

I just wish they made it more precise, like in MGS4 or DMC.

I didn't like how the characters run in a semi-circle formation 50% of the time if you need to run in the opposite direction.

Really depends how the game is structured. RE4 had the same controls as classic RE, but the placement of aiming and camera actually made the controls play out differently when you moved.

I'm fine with the placement of gamecube style controls. Recently, I've grown fond of the 3DS style as well since it's a mixture of old and new with strafing added to the mix. And unlike RE5, Mercs 3D and Revelations 3D allow you to move and shoot while strafing. There's a FPS aiming mode if you feel you can't handle the over the shoulder laser aim approach. With the touch screen they also brought about a good way for gamers to manage their items and weapons and check their maps simultaneously. You can heal instantly with the touch of a button or a press on the touchpad. Very solid controls all around.

It doesn't, really.

I've played several games with many camera settings but the 360 analog movement is suitable for them all.

Some people keep saying "tank controls is most suitable for fixed camera" but Haunting Ground, Devil May Cry, Silent Hill, Fatal Frame, Onimusha 3 & Resident Evil Outbreak says otherwise.

I replayed RE1-3 for Nostalgia.
It's not 100% unplayable but my nostalgia goggles have fell off for good D:

I did get some motivation to try and defeat Nemesis in every encounter without depending on bonus weapons.

I was surprised most people picked the 360 analog controls.

I thought the majority would prefer the Gears-style strafing.
