I didn't like how the camera was all over the place in 6, 5 had a perfect camera. Don't fix what isn't broken, Capcom. -_-;

Resident Evil (Remake) 'n' Haunting Ground are two of the best games ever made by Capcom.

Good example? Leon's campaign, Chapter 5 -- staircase (going up) in the warehouse. And don't forget the many times the game 'hijacks' your camera to look someplace 'interesting' -- which RE5 didn't do.

Also, RE5 gave you a strictly-QTE sequence -- in RE6, you have to control your character. This stacks onto a camera problem in Leon's chapter 5 when the freeway collapses. You're looking BACK at the collapsing freeway, and running away from it (=hold down). When the helicopter comes, you have to transition to running toward the helicopter (hold up); if you don't, you come to a stop -- which, given that the bridge is out, is a bad thing.

Multiplayer wise, I hate what the camera does when your partner enters dying mode. In fact, I have no clue what it does. In RE5 when they entered it and you looked at them, you could still be holding forward and when the camera goes back on you, you are in fact still going forward.

In RE6 I have no damn clue what position the camera takes. Everytime it goes back to me I'm always running in the wrong direction.

I don't like the closeness of the camera's RE4-RE6. The patch in 6 fixed this & I don't think the camera was all over the place gameplay wise & like that freedom.

I always thought you should have complete control or no control of the camera & RE4-RE6(pre-patch) is some weird in-between thing I don't like.

RE5 was the better camera setup PERIOD. And let's not forget "R1,L1" -- useful when you can see your partner being grabbed but cannot physically reach them in 3-soon-1-now.

IMO what they should've done for camera controls was a mix of both. Like the following (which may or may not work):
-R3: camera control, also rotates your character physically.
-L2: melee
-L1,R1: aim weapon, fire
-R1,L1: look at partner and fire
-R2: map (corner of the screen).

Needless to say, the above would let you circle-walk around corners, gun up or down. It would also remove RE6's GPS/marker system which took whatever fun away. And while I like the idea of a dedicated melee button, it occupying the same button as firing a gun would not sit well with a scheme based on RE5. Also:
-R3 controlling the camera means more precise movement, even down to pivoting in place.
-camera @ OTS position
-cutscenes replace 'camera-jacking',

IF capcom was smart, they would give you the option for fixed angles or over the shoulder, like they experimented with in resident evil 5's lost in nightmares.

The people who are working on the resident evil 2 remake made it so you have the option of classic or modern, and the results are wonderful looking.

Sadly capcom is a bunch of idiots.

Capcom doesn't know how to fix anything. But yes the camera in 6 really sucked. It felt completely erratic, not to mention all the times you're awkwardly forced to watch something.
