Dissidia 012: Duodecim Final Fantasy

Ok, I am Cloud Strife fanboy btw, so here goes:
Fact:
1. Popularity contest in gamefaqs (polling in character battle , not from particular board like this)
2. The only FF character who got most appearance outside its initial game (FF7)
3. You type "cloud" in the search topic here, you got 41 pages people discussing cloud , while if I typed squall you only got 19 pages.
4. FF7 got the most spin off series compared to the other game. The logic here is if the initial game sucks , square did not bother to create another spin off series.
5. I don't understand why people still keep compare him with other FF character , (usually he always pitted against squall) , Tell you what: Cloud >> Squall , period.

Cloud won in atk and def point each by 1 point.
It might seems to you, its just a silly stats, but I think it does make a difference, this number means something, and you know which one is better from this number.
Obviously from Square itself, they chose Cloud.
6. Cloud is not emo, Squall is emo
I have been reading most of debate here involving Cloud, some give a good argument, but most are just troll who cannot give a good argument about it , and just saying emo just for the sake of hating cloud.
Tell you something, emo actually are the people who in some extreme cases, slit their wrists in order to attract attention from other people.
Cloud is just avoiding other people just because he doesn't want to deal with other people/ trauma from his childhood, even before anything happened , he is just that introverted.
Squall on the other hand, is just like male version of emo chick who deliberately crying to attract attention from other people by being jerk with them, and trying to shove them off while deep inside , he's trying to say "hey guys/girls, please look at me! please give a damn about me!" what a crybaby
So I'll say squall is immature character , and usually people / gamer who like squall at some degree share his immaturity in real life as well.

So , get over it. Cloud is the best and most popular character in the entire FF franchise whether you like it or not.

2. GILGAMESH has the most appearances outside his original game, not Cloud
3. If you type in Tifa you get 78 pages Though this may have something to do with arTIFActs

Cloud most Popular? Yes, without a doubt, no questions asked, this is fact.

Cloud best character? This is your opinion. Stop trying to pass off your opinion as fact. You are not God. What you say is not law. Keep your opinion to yourself, since you obviously don't know how to express it properly.

^ good point, gilgamesh probably got the most appearance outside its initial game, however in popularity contest everywhere , Cloud won in this department.
So it still does not change the fact theat Cloud still the most popular character.

2. yea, you cannot count artifact too , and I also cannot count cloud of darkness too.
You can also try to get to another FF board and type cloud and usually a lot of people talking about him more than any other character.

Dude, Cloud is considerably slower than Squall, his attacks are more predictable and have less reach.

Cloud kinda needs to hit hard with the oversized sword.

Also I do agree he might be the most popular or at leas the most known. And I really like Cloud he is my fave video game character, but being popular is different from being the best which Cloud isn't.

Of course this is my opinion and it is also the fact. Some video games character cannot just appear randomly and become iconic character out of nowhere if it doesn't have certain attributes to its particular character as why that character became memorable and iconic.

In this issue, I can argue that most popular in FF series also means that this character got the best of everything, including his character development, his hairstyle, his action in battle.
There's two types of gamer: Casual gamer, and hardcore gamer
-Casual gamer usually just play videogames because of its action aspect of it, they don't give a damn about story, etc, etc as long as they can headshot someone , they are happy.
-Hardcore gamer , usually they are not only play the damn game and beat it, they also trying to immerse themself to the actual game they play. In this case, that player actually projecting himself to the main character of particular game he played.
This kind of player usually assessing whether they could relate themself to the main character at some level. If the main character sucks in character development, story, how he interract with other npc, etc it also affect the way gamer feel about this character.
So the best game probably FF7 , but the best character is not necessarily Cloud.
However, Cloud also got recognition everywhere.
Take a look at Chrono Trigger for example, that was a wonderful legendary game as well, but Crono as the main character? Is he as memorable as Cloud? the answer is no.

If you say gameplay wise from dissidia , then yes, squall do have advantage over cloud in term of speed. But thats also makes sense, since Cloud wield giant sword, while squall only medium size gunblade.
You can argue with the base stats lvl 100 they provided to us. Why Cloud is higher than squall in atk and def department?

Best character in my case is not only saying that this character got more speed in battle, got more stats, I am talking more than this, I'm including the story aspect intertwined together with this particular character too.
So the argument like : lionheart got more hit than omnislash, therefore squall won roflmao, is a stupid argument for me, because on the other hand, people can also counter it by saying, but you can release omnislash 100% , while lionhearts you can get it, sometimes you cannot. And also there's a whole argument about materia system, etc, it never ends.
