Is Center of the World ever worth it?

#1EnlongPosted 12/3/2012 12:54:14 AM
I've used, and heard of, many builds that use items like Force To Courage or Side By Side, which turn off the EX Gauge and focus on building Assist. However, are there any viable builds that go the other way and use Center of the World? Is anyone's EX Mode worth shutting off Assists?

That is all.

Shortest answer:

Doo-doo-doo
Round and round the record spins all day.
Listen again, it takes you far away.
Trying to stop it is futile
So just listen now to my musical doodle!
Doo-doo-doo-doo-doo-doo-doo-doo-doo-doo <x3>
Listen again to the musical doodle!
Doo-doo-doo-doo-doo-doo-doo-doo-doo-doo
Doo-doo-doo-doo.
Try to control it, but it's way too hard
Every time it plays, it's an electric charge.
The sound in your head is brutal...
Now you're infected by the musical doodle!
Doo-doo-doo-doo-doo-doo-doo-doo-doo-doo
Listen again to the musical doodle!
The song that you ran from is back again!
You wonder if the madness will ever end.
Trying to stop it is futile.
So just listen again to my musical doodle.
Doo-doo-doo-doo-doo-doo-doo-doo-doo <x3>
You gotta listen again to the musical doodle!
Doo-doo-doo-dooooooooo
Listen again to the musical doodle!

My serious answer is also no, btw. That amount of EX absorption boost isn't worth ripping off Assist. intake range is useless since you should use chase to gather EXforce anyway or you need to take no action if you want to absorb it without chase (unless you also use other accessories to help you with that, but it is a waste of space...)

Anyway, If I want to make an EXbuild, I'd rather use Pearl Necklace with decent amount of booster instead.

Pearl Necklace (can be used with booster) :

EX Force Absorption +10%
Assist Gauge Charge -20% <-suck with booster. But if you counter while having Low BRV or Counter HP when in near death status, you still get Assist. Assist Duration is still the same, too.

CoW (cannot be used with booster):

EX Intake Range +3m <-pointless
EX Force & Core Absorption+25%
Assist Gauge Freeze <- LOLOLOLOL no

A build with Heaven's Cloud, Tenacious Attacker/Glutton or both, and a White Drop/Gem should suffice if you want a build that's balance with both AST and EX.

EX central build is only useful against a SbS user, and even then it's matchup specific.

....I always have the impression that it's 'Close to you' that freezes Assist Gauge...?

Nope, Close to You nerfs AST Charge by -30%. Still pretty bad if you want to quickly gain a gauge.
