Dude, don't start, We don't know how many TTGL, Bayonetta and God of War fans are lurking around. Fans of other things in general seem to want to elevate their favorites to power levels far beyond what they actually are. Whether it's Kratos or Batman or whoever else who is unlikely to defeat stronger foes like James Heller, War or Death (Darksiders) or Asura. Asura can defeat a Creator God and be the size of a planet, but some people will still dispute. Even I have to say I wouldn't call him the strongest character ever (that's too close to call considering characters like Golden Superman and other characters), but he's certainly on the top tier of power in all fictional media.

In all seriousness though Asura is the strongest...in his Universe. whether he's the strongest fictional character can be subjective.

In soul nomad and the world eaters, if you take the evil path the main character ends up devouring the entire universe. I'm guessing that would make him on par with Asura. Or maybe not. It's hard to compare characters from different universes.

That wasn't bayonetta that was Queen Sheba a demon she summoned thats not exactly her power

^^^ not to mention that final feat in Bayonetta, while impressive, still seems pretty tame when comparing it to the final events in Asura's Wrath.
