I thought it would be impossible, but this is even worse than II. This franchise really needs to get back to its roots. Black and Sigma were awesome. This game, while awesome visually, is really lacking in the gameplay department. I want multiple weapons, I want more strategy in the fighting. I really want it to be almost identical to black or sigma. I just don't understand why they ruined this franchise.
I still haven't played 3, but I honestly find it hard to believe they could somehow make it worse than 2, which just felt like a lesser version of 1. --- http://img851.imageshack.us/img851/9711/4cebbcec040d6d9c5ed8d25.jpg http://img202.imageshack.us/img202/1818/gagaballrun.jpg
Garhinder posted... Play black or sigma then? It was ruined for sure, but why make a carbon copy? What's the point?
No one here is arguing for a carbon copy. I'm not even sure why you bothered saying that. --- http://img851.imageshack.us/img851/9711/4cebbcec040d6d9c5ed8d25.jpg http://img202.imageshack.us/img202/1818/gagaballrun.jpg
I call it Projectile Gaiden. Either enemies are spamming projectiles at you, or they urged/forced you to use the bow on many bosses (Robin Williams Space Train, flying dragons, last boss v1, armadillos were much easier with IK). They based difficulty in the game not on going toe to toe but from flying off screen projectiles. (Yes, I beat it on MN, Gamerscore is 1160 for NG2.)
Enemies were lackluster and movesets were limited. Recycled models. Standard enemies had very little to no defense.
The dismemberment was over the top for me. Happened too often. It felt like the game desginers wanted me to say "Cooooool!!" like a 15 year old boy.
When NG2 was announced I was hoping for more epic fights like the dopplegangers. I, too, felt like it was a step backward or at least to the side.
There were good things, like all the weapons and the combat was better than the first. But overall, NGB is still the measure for the series for me.
