Ring of favor and protection..

Can it be repaired, or does the item disappear?

How many can be obtained per playthrough?

It's better than anything else I have but I'm not about to waste it..

Once you take it off, it's gone for good.

You can get two per playthrough. One from killing Lautrec, and another from trading the Xanthous Crown to Snuggly.

Do the effects of the rings stack? Even if it did it wouldnt be viable I guess

^ I believe they do. I've always used one. For lower level players it's almost a requirement.

You can't equip two of the same ring, so... No.

For melee tanks it is practically a requirement, IMO. The boost to stamina and equip burden gives you a bit boost. If you stack it with Havel's Ring, you can rock the full Havel armor for max poise along with some medium-sized weaponry(well, I have a Zweihander and still keep under weight).

For magic and Dex builds using a Dark Grain Ring though, not so much. The ninja flip ring is key to moving around to avoid attacks and get in quick counters for Dex builds. Magic users will likely have a Bellowing Dragon Crest Ring alongside a Dusk Crown helmet to boost damage.
