125 or 120?

i remember that the ideal soul level for demons souls was 125 , right?

might this remain the same in dark souls?

all my builds are level 125.

Due to the level restriction for invading, I shoot most of my builds for just under 120, just in case. At most I'm forced to deal with having only 40 vitality, but that's hardly a problem.

120 is typically more popular, but you'll be fine if you go to 125. A lot of japanese players are 99-100.

I like my 95 more than my 125, but mostly because I wasted no stat points making her. I get about as much action and even have more areas open for pvp.

I suggest just going with whichever makes your build feel complete. I got a 120 which doesn't need to go up to 125, so it stays there. I have a 125 that just needs those few extra points to meet breakpoints. I have a level 95 which meets all the breakpoints that I wanted for it.

I'm SL 129..........isn't it a 10 level difference you can play with? I forget.

I think it's interesting how people all agreed to 120 for some odd reason.

Just level up as high as you want, there will always be people there with you.

It's by people claiming 120 on the boards that makes people doubtful.

When I used to play Demon's Souls and post on the Atlus forum, it was 100-120 sl for 4-1 duels. All my Dark Souls build are 120.

That's because there's mutual agreement that after diminishing returns, builds that focus on 1 or 2 stats all conclude somewhere around 120, before points became wasted (thus sustaining points). Soul Level 120 was a round, average number which all standard builds started reached a ceiling. Some hybrids need a few more points, and most hybrids once they have hit their designated breakpoints end up at 125 max.

You obviously don't PVP very much. The reason why the community decides on a lvl cap is because it forces people to put thought into their characters and make "builds." If you just level as high as you wanted, everyone would be using the same characters.

Yer right, I don't PvP very much. If there was less lag, I would feel more inclined.

Why did the community agree to 120? And when did they do this?

I think that's just weird.

Why not an even 100?

Why not 130?

150?

120 is a random number. Is there a specific reason why 120 is any more or less logical than any other base number?
