How to pivot backstab

That still doesn't explain if it's a result of lag or a result of mechanics.

From what I understand you always just face your opponent when locked on. If you lock on to an enemy that flies by you your character just whips around and is always facing him during every moment of the move it seems like.

so these are the kind of folks who think all backstabs are lag when it aint lol. now every backstab is lag in this game lol.

"It's not lag, because you can do it offline to enemies whose tracking-lock speed is par to none (Silver Spear Knights)."

Enemies pivot extremely slow, you can circle around them and they just don't turn that fast.

However with your own character you appear to pivot essentially instantly, for example when a skeleton or other enemy jumps past you. I guess I'll have to look at it again.

Another example is when you are facing away from an enemy, then lock you. You just flip right around, the tracking is extremely fast.

"so these are the kind of folks who think all backstabs are lag when it aint lol. now every backstab is lag in this game lol."

You clearly misunderstood the discussion here.

Should I do a Dark Souls upgraded version?

Isn't it basically the same thing?

It's been the same for me, i just copied the pivot backstab from demon's souls and applied it to this game.

I personally haven't noticed a difference either, except that it seems slightly easier. Might be my imagination though.

oddly enough i find it easier to do it on fog ring players, since they don't expect it at all.

Pivot looks the same in PvE as it does in PvP for the most part... which is a pretty strong indicator it's not some shifty lag mechanic. In fact, the only BS mechanic that is shady is Engage/Run-stab.

Sometimes Pivot/Roll-BS can look weird... but... that's really just a product of bad netcode... the game running ahead of what's represented visually.

I've seen EWGF's faq and understand the gist. Just can bring myself to accept that pivot backstabbing is part of Souls combat. I guess because it looks like crap most of the time.

Sort of... but it's a bit different. If you played DS at all, there are a quite a few differences.

You behave a bit differently while pivoting now, characters seem more prone to making the "slide" animation... so I'm having a ton more success with releasing run to prune missed attempts, OR making like a quick "tear-drop" pattern when I approach the shoulder.
You can't offensively spam it at all either. Walking backwards with the occasional poke completely invalidates it now as long as you got a good weapon choice.
You need a slightly tighter angle then before... none of this 45 degree angle stuff from DS... that **** won't fly now, which is better. But it's easier to get behind your opponent with almost everything now, and rolling/blocking doesn't cancel damage.
