Best armor for sorcerer class?

I'm still really early in the game. Just met the first blacksmith. What is best around this time of the game and what should I keep a lookout for?

Also, is there anyway to get a pointy hat without killing someone?

Do you have the Master Key?

And I don't think it's possible to get a pointy hat without somebody dying, as long as we're not involving trading.

Not much in the way of armor. Just pick the best you can find while still staying below 50% (with DWGR) or 25%

You can get a few heavy armors early on that may be able to help (still make sure you are able to fast roll, that is the most important) Like Stone in the Forest or EK. Dingy Robe is also very good when upgraded. Wander Manchette is good as well.

Pointy hats, you say?

If you have the master key, you can get the witch set down in the valley of the drakes, but that's much later after you've beaten the four kings. Look for the elevator below firelink shrine, you can also go into blighttown from there and pick up the crimson set.

Thanks for the info everyone. I'll think I'll make a run at the crimson set. It looks pretty cool. :D

Think a SL 27 could handle that area?

Just suicide-rush the chest; don't bother fighting.

It's intended for a level higher than 27, but of course your own skill at evading the enemies' attacks can offset that.

As long as you have the master key you can do it in 5 minutes of hitting the Firelink Shrine without leveling at all. Just spend any souls you may have then it won't matter if you die. Keep trying till you get it then jump off and return to Firelink.

Yeah not too hard. I can do a run there right as I get to Firelink. Just ignore every enemy, they shouldn't be trouble as long as your away from them.

Take note DO NOT get the Firekeeper Soul in Blighttown yet, it will trigger something bad.

Big Hat Logan's set or Witche's Set; for cosmetic effect.

For practicality, Dusk of Oolacile's set, or Gwyndolin's set. The helmets of both sets can give a boost to sorcery, which helps.

^ Big Hat is actually pretty decent helmet. It has the highest magic defense for helmets as far as I know.
