Moonlight butterfly spear

How well does this weapon work for Magic knight types? I want to build a Melee knight with damage focus on Intellect but very little sorcs/Pyros (Just stuff like Iron flesh, magic shield)

Having trouble finding a good melee weapon to match the build. Thats not a slow 2h weapon.

Moonlight butterfly spear is *very good.* Use it in two hands. You may also want to bring the moonlight sword as well.

That is the issue i am a very turtle-like player being in My shield is up all the time so using 2h weapons is way out of my play-style range.

I'm too much of a tankophile.

Spear isn't too bad as long as you keep in the mind that Spears aren't meant to do heavy damage. Poke, poke and poke is what you'll need to do.

Moonlight Greatsword is the most popular weapon in the game and it scales wonderfully with Int. A must have weapon for Int builds.

Velka's Rapier is another weapon you should consider.

That is the sword you get from cutting off the nekkid dragon's tale?

Turtling is a handicap, youll be a better player when you finally put your shield on your back. And MLGS is the most popular weapon in game? Since when? And why? Its pretty crappy imo..

^if by nekkid dragon, you mean seathe, then yes. But it's actually more of the tip of the tail than the actual tail.

But the combo of the MLGS and the butterfly spear is very popular for a good reason. The mlgs has excellent stunlock, and if that fails, you can poke from safety, generally allowing you to either play in the fray or step out and stay safe.

Alls the mlgs has is r1 mash... Roll bs that.. R2s a roll bs... Rolling r1s are the same useless crap as most other greatswords, roll bs... Just roll bs central really. Spears are annoying but roll bs or parry works. Than again im assuming this builds for pve or random pvp, so youll do fine.

It's better to learn how to become a backstabbing turtle. For that you need a rapier-type weapon, since spears tend not to do as much backstab damage and have a slower recovery rate so you can't poke (as a ruse) and immediately circle for a backstab *as fast.*
