Calamity Ring?

It's a ring you receive for killing Kalameet. It makes it so you take double damage. If I had to hazard a guess, it's either strictly for sadists, or it's got some effect that we don't know as of yet. Knowing From, I'm kinda leaning towards the first one.

Why would anybody wear a ring that gives them double damage without any upside? Makes no sense... do you perhaps get double the souls from enemies you kill with it on?

For the extra challenge or whatever sadistic reason. I doubt there's any hidden upside on that ring, it probably just does exactly what the description says.

'A ring enchanted by the orange eye of Kalameet, the bringer of calamity. Doubles damage received by its wearer.

A useless ring befitting of no finger. Best left unknown or at least well hidden.'

I can't find the interview but there was one claiming there was an item whose true purpose was difficult to discover. I don't think they were referring to the Silver Pendant. Not sure... I can't find it anymore :(

If you wear the masochist's ring long enough, Miralda will appear and whisk you away to her special room.

Marvelous Chester is the best part.

Anyone who disagrees is lying to themselves.

How does summoning Sif work?

I found him down in the Chasm behind a hidden wall and got the Cleansing Shield from him, but I definitely didn't see any summoning signs down by Manus ..

OT:
I really like the Oolacile Township area - its gets slowly creepier as you get further down in it. Boss fights have been pretty awesome too.

The Guardian only took a couple tries but was a cool fight none the less.
Artorias was a beast, ended up having to Poise tank the bastard.
Kalameet is still kicking my ass.
I almost had Manus on my second try - but I was trying to cut off his tail (not even sure if you can, but he does have one so I figured I should try) so I let him kill me before I finished him.

The sign is right to the left of you in the Manus fight, not outside the fog gate.
