How hard would it be to make this change to invasions?

I don't understand why they can't give us an option to not invade, or be invaded by people that are NOT in the continental US.

95%-97% of the time I face opponents in Japan or Brazil, the lag is overwhelming.

In a game where timing and skill go hand-in-hand the skewed reality (what I see on my screen) makes it virtually impossible.

Back-Stabs are the obvious glaring issue, but it's SO much more than that. The extended range of weapons (especially large weapons & spears) is comical. The fact that spells & miracle connect when they are not even close on my screen. Furthermore, the DWGR flippers are practically invincible. Even when I unlock, anticipate the landing zone of the flip, do a running horizontal strike, even hear the "hit" sound effect, it won't register any damage.

Why haven't they addressed this issue? Is it uncorrectable in the games current format?

Do you have a wireless internet connection or wired?

If wireless, then that's most likely the reason for lag. If wired... well... I dont think its wired.

It's wireless, but I'm in my office so I can just run an ethernet cable over to my PS3. Will that make a difference?

A massive difference. Believe me.

Wireless might be ok for other games but Dark and Demon's Souls servers are fragile as f*** so you need a solid wired connection.

I play against players from all regions of the globe, even Aussies, and the lag is a constant 0.5 sec delay against them all. I do come across the occasional teleporter (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rr-l_ZNOe6g) but these encounters are very rare.

I play with a good wired connection on the xbox and get pooed on by lag (from other people)

Brb getting hit in the middle of a GS running attack (the damage registers- and they instantly backstab me in the middle of the running attack animation and this damage registers too)

I'm Australian. The internet is awful.

And haha TC, you're correct; it's your right as a Murican to pretend that a world outside of NA doesn't exist ;)

Honestly, simply having the option to not be invaded would have been fine... such as joining the Way of the White covenant and having it exempt you from invasions instead of lowering the chance of invasions.

That way, people who want to be online for the sake of co-op or to have NPC black phantoms invade for the sake of item completion could do so... and the burg trolls could be pretty much avoided by newbie players (since the WotW can be joined immediately in the game).
