sl100 lifehunt scythe build

824 bleed resist (heh) Although I sometimes swap out the tail axe for a bloodshield/buckler since 4~~ bleed resist is already quite a bit. I use the RFoP for the ability to do a double r2 after roaring with the dragon torso stone. The extra hp is icing on the cake.

path of the dragon +3 for the larger roar radius, so no armor. Zero poise means all I do is either run and attack or backstep and attack (which is a fantasic move for the great scythes since the animation is so fast). In conjunction to the roar, if I can manage to use it while turned away from the opponent, a backstep and hop will ALWAYS land a hit or at the very least trigger bleed buildup. If not, the 2-handed r2 is somewhat viable, depending on your opponent's moves.

I only have trouble with katanas and falchions if i'm not focusing (or going up against multiple enemies).

Fall control is for.. fun. ;)

and here's one with some armor when I don't feel like dragon roaring all over the place

lemme know what you think.

Looks fun, you can get two more points to use if you go with a Warrior starting class. At least that's what the Planner says :P

An admittedly fun build, but this would probably be more competitive.

That GCF+GC combo or GCF+GSR1+GC is BOSS.

wasn't me, wish it was. Got another 98? I have another character that I'd like to get to +3 but I'd rather not farm for 80 scales again.

The planner messes up your attunement stat when you change starting classes. Warrior would end up with exactly the same amount of stats (10 attunement instead of 11, but thats inconsequential) except for having 1 less resistance. And I'll take all the resistance I can get without putting points into it :P

I tend not to use pyromancies (esp GC) since they're just too easy to dodge. Only thing I'd consider is FT or chucking great fireballs.
But you're very right, it'd be optimal for me to take those 4 points out of INT and either get more attunement slots for pyromancies or just vitgouge more

GC is pretty hard to dodge when used correctly, like when its in ur lh, kick them and use GC with 45 dex. i think its nearly impossible to dodge. GCF + GC is nearly impossible to dodge too, the lava will probly hit the other player if he tries to roll away

Fun.... but Dragon Body..... ughhh

It NEVER works out well. I've tried so many builds with dragon torso, and they are always less than optimal. The roar isn't worth the loss in defense.

Always wanted to play with this weapon (more of a INT/FTH spammer) so I'm thinking of this build which includes the 55 poise:

http://tinyurl.com/9u7tb4r

Could always move the ATT points to another stat (better would be moving the 5 VIT to DEX for the spell speed casting)

Hmm, I've never seen anyone try these combos before, so maybe I'm missing something. But also, I like to challenge myself by not relying on pyromancies (something EVERYONE can get full benefits from)

I'd go

instead, after days of tweaking with bleed resistances, as long as you have over 250 you're fine. Bloodred moss clumps are fantastic

You're completely right, the dragon torso is never optimal, but the point of this is just.. not to get hit. Weave around using backsteps and running in circles and jumping out with that dashing R1 is my regular strategy. Plus you'd be amazed at the range for +3, works extremely well with the scythe weapons
