Dark Souls servers are down!

They took the servers offline! Good think this game is peer-to-peer (P2P) so we can all play online regardless of servers (except those that control access to the PSN network)--not that there ever were any.

Uhm, you still need their servers in order to be matched up with people.

virtual servers!

in other word, just an application installed on playstation network . No physical servers like in Demon's Souls

Depends on how they built their peer-to-peer network as the PSN network might have a facilitator function or peer client could contain a list of nodes that is fed to other clients.

Probably to fix the flickering that happening in the new dlc areas
