Just watched the trailer for DK2 and didn't feel a DK vibe...

Yeah I don't know how people are getting a skyrim vibe from the trailer when it shows the main character walking through lonely areas, eventually getting sliced and hit with 50 arrows on his back and dying.

Yeah the part about the girl maybe, but FROM clearly took the effort to not make her your typical RPG 'cute' or beautiful chick, to show some realism and convey a mood of adversity in her eyes. And they exchanged no dialogues.

I don't see Skyrim or Elder Scrolls in here. Just Dark Souls infact, but all CGI. If there was ever a Dark Souls movie, it would be like this trailer.

I didn't care for the trailer as it was all CGI. Since no gameplay was shown it just leads me to think that DkS2 will go for a more cinematic style which I don't think really goes well with the series. Hopefully the new focus on story and cutscenes doesn't affect the gameplay much but it was nice in DS and DkS how there was no bull **** story to get in the way of the gameplay.

Yes, that is what I saw in the CGI trailer. That is what they've decided to show you, that's what they want you to think is representative of their product. You didn't get any of that? You can't be that oblivious to how companies work. I just know when I saw Dark Souls' trailer, I got wet seeing all the coolass monsters. In Dark Souls 2's trailer, I didn't see much in the monster department, it was more character-focused, not monster-focused. I dig the Souls games for the monsters.


Announcement trailers are different from -- every other trailer. I would blame Namco's marketing, if anything.

And you want to see a monster? Look in the mirror.

Look at the Namco trailers, than the From trailers... 2 different animals entirely. Namco wants that Cawaduty/Skyrim audience... From wants to make their game.

I feel like some people here might question how much I'm probably still gonna love this game >_> Demon's/Dark Souls were the first games I legitimately decided to get plats in. I just hope it still has lots of awesome enemies and not too much down-your-throat dialogue. The story/dialogue in the Souls games were great, but they were also optional, you had to dig into the game to get all the details. It gives me a similar feel to when I first played Metroid Prime/Super Metroid.

I definitely noticed that, it was a lot like Demon's Souls intro. I just feel like the dragon could have looked a little different considering the dragons we're using to seeing have like goblin shark mouths and falcon punches, or a tiny crocodile head and a giant gaping mouth-chest with four wings and like six legs. I just saw a normal dragon with an extra eye. The tragic vibe of the series is definitely still there, I'm just hoping they keep the monsters cool, that's all.

It's a bit conservative in the visual creativity side compared to Dark Souls, I guess is what I mean to say.
