Hahahahahahahahahahahaha.

Great at an entirely 100% luck based, hahahaha.

....No, I don't even need to say anything.

That's just great entirely by itself.

I will say this though, instead of spending thousands of hours getting platinum on Dark Souls, try learning how to write English properly.

to the individual referring to age of gamers on the Wii u you really need to check out the zombi u game content in some ways it's akin to dark souls 2.

i commend nintendo for reaching out to older gamers

just buy a Ps3 and play Dark souls 2! Ps3 is not very expensive right now

You must be pretty naive about life, money and how the world works if you think it's at all reasonable to suggest "just spend hundreds of dollars to play a game"

Hi. I just came here to say this is an awful topic and I hope the TC feels bad.

I can't believe he came out with gems like "The WiiU has such a small install base". Well no freaking duh, it only came out like 2 weeks ago jesus christ these internet debaters are the reason why no one takes the video game fanbase seriously and why most companies can now play the misogany card when they get some flak (but that's another can of worms.)

If they decide to release it for the WiiU, that would be grand, but given From Software's frankly inept port of the PC version, I can't see them taking the time to try and learn completely new architecture when they already have a fanbase on the 360 and PS3.

TC is possibly the biggest reason I shyed away from a PS3 this gen. X-Box kiddies may be annoying and Nintoddlers blinded by zeal, but no fan base can hope to produce as much pure venom as the Sony Fanbase, and that's a shame, because they really drag the name of Sony down with them.

Feel bad? Nope. Error in judgment? Yes.

I already said it was a misjudgment on my part posting this topic multiple times, yet everyone keeps lambasting me. That is fine and I understand, I'm not going to lose sleep over it. I actually got a very restful 8 hrs of sleep last night.

Anyhow.....I never said, "The WiiU has such a small install base." Please find the "exact" line where I said that, word for word. That's right, I didn't.

WiiU would most likely have a small fanbase for this game regardless if it is early in its lifecycle or not. I think that would become fact, just like all other multplatform ports. All third party games took a backseat and suffered on the Wii. Why? The first party giants such as Mario, Metroid, and Zelda were a main focus. I don't see that changing this generation either, guys. I really would love to see this change for the WiiU, but I just don't see it materializing after how terrible the support for 3rd party was on Wii. Who knows though...only time will tell, I suppose.

I honestly don't feel like arguing here anymore or explaining anything else, as it seems like it would be futile at this point. Everyone will have a counterpoint for anything else I have to say. That is the way of Gamefaqs, or the internet, for that matter lol.

People will buy the Wii U because they want to play Mario, Zelda, or whatever. What is so wrong with them wanting to be able to play "hardcore" games like Dark Souls 2 as well?

Nothing is wrong. What is wrong is that the word "hardcore" and a Nintendo console just don't mix anymore. Nintendo is the one who alienated their "hardcore" fanbase with the "casual" Wii. Developers gave it a shot a few times (Madworld, Dead Space Extraction) and those tanked miserably.

That alone is why 3rd party is and will for quite some time, fail on the WiiU as well.

Explain to me how Nintendo isn't "hardcore" but Sony and Microsoft incontrovertibly are, please. Also, explain to me how Nintendo alienated me during the lifespan of the Wii. If you can succinctly do those two things in a manner not rife with generalized blanket statements and opinion presented as fact, you win the Internet.

Besides MH3 (which I loved), name a game on the Wii which was 3rd party and sold well? Not many huh? Probably because literally no one gave two #$%@& about anything other than Mario, Zelda, and Metroid. That is how they alienated their fanbase for the hardcore. They made it a system that was abundant with shovelware and focused solely on first party support with 3rd party getting the short end of the stick in return. It is pretty much a fact if you look at the console game sales when comparing 1st party to 3rd party on the Wii. Sadly, that same trend will no doubtedly continue on this system.

The Wii had been branded a casual system and that is a hard thing to shake when you want to take its next system seriously as anything remotely "hardcore".

I guess according to your criteria, I don't win the internet though. I am sad lol.

While I disagree with your premise in general and the definition of what is and what isn't hardcore, I'm far too lazy at this point to piece together a response. You win one Internet.

Tangentially, MH3 was (is) awesome. Still can't decide if I'm going to get Ultimate for Wii U or not. I'll probably be too busy frothing at the mouth thinking about The Last of Us to do anything else, but we'll see.

Madworld is "hardcore" in the "look at me I'm violent and mature." kinda way. Dead Space Extraction is a lazy lightgun game, you can't get much more casual than pew pew pew on rails. They deserved to tank and I doubt they would have done well on PS3 either.
