The glitch did get fixed. For me just knowing when to roll and when to attack did it.. his attacks were fairly easy to tell apart, in my opinion, at least for the most part after the the fight progressed a ways. Beat him first try with no flasks left(and I went in with 20 +4 or +5) and an armor swap mid fight to get fast roll lol. When he does the big charge up move that buffs him rush at him 2hand your weapon and try to get him to stagger/stop the move (2-3hits normally for me but I used a Zweihander). Try to dodge as many of his attacks as possible because they drained a lot of stamina when blocking more then 1 or 2. If you really can't get it you could always summon someone else.
