It makes no sense for a non-respawning enemy to only have a chance to give you a good weapon.
I say this because I'm making a 'strength' build, by the end I will have 20 Dex for the Greatbows and for early game, I'm going to be level 50 with 30vitality, 20 End, 27 Str and 18 Dex. I really feel like using the Black Knight weapons in the mix and I pondered the idea that even new players might only RANDOMLY stumble upon a great end game weapon at the beginning of the game, and essentially make a joke out of the game if they're smart enough to use it.
The idea just seems strange to me that due to luck, not any real choice or skill, a first time player might have an easier time because a Black Knight dropped something good.
Do you agree? Am I nit-picking? Both?
For my own entertainment I really want to start with this weapon, and it's a little annoying that it doesn't drop. I wanna have fun. :(
I would agree if there wasn't an area full of respawning Black Knights, of each type.
Luckily if you just want the BK Sword, the first 15 min are relatively painless to do over a few times.
Not til the Kiln though, kind of ruins the prospect of using it from the beginning.
Takes me like 25 minutes because I get the Zweihander, Dragon Crest Shield and kill the 3 barbarians at the beginning of Blighttown on my way past hoping for an early Large Club.
Meh.. I dont see what you're saying as nitpicking. It is a royal pain if you're trying to actually acquire the items.
Best chances I've had or seemed to notice are if you kill them without being hit. Like the bosses pretty much.
I parry and riposte him twice and don't take damage. Still not drop at 10 humanity this time. I'm getting kind of annoyed, I've done it several times now, and the god damn desire factor is kicking me in the nads.
I'm Soul Level 18, would anyone be willing to give me 1 in the Burg? I'm kind of over it not dropping and doing it over again. As far as I'm concerned I've earnt it lol. Just bad luck.
