Dark souls, cut enemies and bosses: debug menu?

#1HolyGravePosted 2/25/2013 6:35:22 AM
So i was browsing around twitch, and i found this guy playing with the debug menu of dark souls, he found out a lot of cut out bosses and enemies, including some sort of golden enemy who has the same voice as allant from demon's, and has the same attacks...
I don't know the time marks but just watch all of his streams called ''playing around with the debug menu''

The guy has been trying to make this hack for months, and now it finally worked.
He can control everything he wants, and do everything he wants... it's so cool.
He can even control cut out content..

The level of detail on all the enemy models is amazing. Even simple enemies like the Depths Slimes gain a new level of appreciation from me when I notice they have human bones sticking out of them. Can't wait to see what From can do with next-gen graphics.

Analysis of some of the more notable things:

1:03:26
Chester's awesome viewmodel. I like how he holds his hat on during his running animation.

1:07:20
This isn't Beatrice' NPC Summon model; looks like she was meant at some point to be encountered in human form as an NPC or an enemy in the main game or DLC.
I was only kidding about Beatrice being a time-travelling drug addict in another topic, but damn, she sure as hell looks like one here. Look at those anorexic arms; like spaghetti noodles. And those Vlad Tepes fingernails.

1:12:35
WTF is this? Red-Eye ChaosHander Coatless Chester? Description says "Evil Marvellous Chester," but that seems redundant.

1:25:28
The regular ghost model shown prior to this was creepy, but getting a closer look at the female ghost really makes you appreciate how terrible the fate of New Londo is lore-wise.

1:53:02
Dregling with a fire crag spider parasite on its back. Perhaps this was meant to be how the fire crag spiders you encounter in Blighttown Swamp were produced? Also reminiscent of Ceaseless Discharge's back tentacles and of enemy art for Dark Souls 2.

2:17:12
Old Crystal Gecko model from Demon's is present in Dark Souls debug; maybe there were going to be two varieties that dropped different ores?

2:29:23
Good look at the actual face of a Basilisk/Curse Gecko

2:32:00
Looks like a throwback to the Primeval Demon from Demon's Souls.

2:35:50
Never noticed that the new Crystal Geckos are more like Crystal Bearbugs.

3:39:12
The Transformed Maidens or whatever they are called have got a Cloyster-thing going on with their faces. Disturbing.

Got to go; will look at the rest later.

Oops. The 3:39 marker in my last post should be 2:39. Also, turns out the Maiden Freaks are called Pisacas. Doesn't change the fact that their faces look like lady parts, and they are impaling you with a spiky sensual part.

Back to back looks at Evil Chester, Beatrice, and the Crag Spider Hollow, and the Primeval Demon lookalike.

Evil Chester seems to have a unique moveset for his 1-handed Zweihander which includes fancy swings, pokes, kicks, and multiple grabs, including ones where he impales you on his blade and either pushes you off, throws you up into the air, or onto the ground. He would probably have been the most challenging NPC fight if he was included.

3:06:45
Look at the Crag Spider's model. The Crag Spider does not hatch from the Crag Spider Hollow, it IS the Crag Spider Hollow. The Hollow's head is the fleshy protrusion that is lifted when the Crag Spider breathes chaos flame, and you can see the outlines of the Hollow's arms and shoulders.

The chaos flame mutation has completely transformed its host: the insectoid eyes of the new head on the lower body and the pincer-like legs look similar to the mutations of Ceaseless Discharge, while the skeletal, almost root-like clawed arms and tiny fly wings are reminiscent of the Bed of Chaos.

3:38:15
Another New Londo enemy model that you don't get to appreciate the detail of in its native environment (that, plus they don't respawn once you kill them). A disgusting, blackened mass of gooey corpses combined into a larger entity.

3:42:28
The Crow was originally supposed to be a golem crow?

0:42:35
Early version of Bed of Chaos. It seems originally she was supposed to be a more traditional boss: she would be rooted to the floor of the arena, but be able to crawl around, stretching her roots to get within reach of the player. This looks much more fun than the version we have.

1:10:40
A completely new cut boss. Fancy damaged golden armor with Darkwraith motif, and a square-bladed sword. Moves include variety of swings, an uppercut, a lariat, an AOE Groundpound, and some kind of lifesteal. Sound effects are all placeholder (Old King Allant grunts for attacks, Wisp explosion for AoE, and the Darkwraith humanity drain for the lifesteal).

I think this character is a Darkwraith. Unless they are just borrowing animations, he has the forward walk and "just got parried" animation of a Darkwraith, as well as their Dark Hand blocking animation. This would also explain his lifedrain ability and the Wisp explosion.

The armor that gold king allant is wearing is badass. Also that sword....

I was thinking about posting a topic on this...
Coolest feature seems to be no clip, I don't know if it was shown off in your linked video but it would be really cool to see the areas that are normally out of view.
sadly this requires a JTAG'd xbox 360 which none of us are likely to have.
You can apparently do similar cheats on the PC but I don't think they work any more.
