Which do you prefer?
I personally prefer Dark Souls for the weightier combat, and better animations, open world with more secrets, and the characters/story..
But Demons Souls by far has the better atmosphere and music IMO.
As a Souls fan, which do you prefer?

Demons is better in every way except heavy armor viability and mid roll inclusion.

You're saying that, as if it's fact, lol.
This is an opinion topic, and that's all it'll ever be, lol. No elitism please

i like the characters and twisted environments/stories in Demon's Souls but the gameplay is obviously superior in the new game.

Demon's, because it feels like an action adventure RPG while Dark is essentially a hack'n'slash with RPG elements.
If your shop is getting shot by an arrow trap, sometimes you are going to get an arrow in the knee.

How so?
If anything Demon's felt much more hack n slash to me, it was much more fast paced, the bosses and enemies were less aggresive and required less stratedgy, but that's just me.

Another thing Dark Souls does much better, besides the lag, is PvP
Demon's Souls is full of R1 mashers, and the wonkiest backstabs I've ever seen in my life, lol
The guy stabbing the air in front of him, and me being thrown sideways, it never looked that bad in Dark Souls.
& the only way to avode being stagger locked is to not get hit, or attacks like the meat cleavers R2 and such. I perosnally didn't like the simplcity

False actually, neither are hack and slash. However regular enemies were harder in Demons, any veteran will tell you that.
