Your opening the application support folder in your username directory aren't you?

In lion library is hidden, I haven't played minecraft on my Mac in a while but I'm pretty sure you need to see it to find .minecraft, this should unhide it:

chflags nohidden ~/Library/

Just enter that in terminal. Again, use the application support folder in your username folder, so mine would be something like

Users/tom/applicationsupport/library

Something like that anyways :p

^Why did they hide the library folder, seems weird. Anywho i don't know about lion, but i think you may have messed up the order, should be as the first poster mentioned.

User/Library/Application Support/Minecraft

They hid it because Macs (no offense to anyone here, Im using my MacBook to type this) are now for computer simpletons with the new OS, they've removed tons of developer features from what I have seen and have done small things (like changing the name of AirPort simply to wifi for example, which irks me >_>)

Woops, sorry about the misleading directory, but yes, from what I understand apple wanted to simplify more of their os so it didn't confuse Mac users, apparently because library has program files the end users don't need to see. Probably because the typical Mac user isn't good with computers and just want things to "work"

It's the same as Linux, the . (dot) at the beginning flags it as hidden.
