After seeing the one posted above, i've actually begun building it. I finally have a use for the hundreds of thousands (literally) pieces of cobblestone that I gathered when I dug my quarry which goes down to bedrock. If you're going to attempt building it, I warn you, it will take a LONG time. --- Those points generators are all a scam, and you can quote me on that. - Krauser86 GT: Icy J 101 ----- http://steamcommunity.com/id/theicy
I've actually built a 3-level version of that mob trap. Just so you know, when you have only one level, you'll get very little output. Once I had a second level, the output significantly improved, which is largely the result of the way that the spawning algorithms work. Adding a third level improved it enough that I felt satisfied, since it's producing on the order of a couple hundred items an hour. I didn't need an extreme number of resources, since all I was really interested in were arrows (and gunpowder, to a lesser extent), so three levels was enough for my meager needs.
So, yeah, it definitely works, and I try to make a point of swinging by it periodically while I'm building elsewhere nearby, that way I can pick up whatever has been dropping. Just make sure your canal to where you collect the items is long enough, since you need to be at least 24 blocks from where the spawning takes place, otherwise you'll interfere with it. --- "The captured hunter hunts your mind." That trap no longer works as of the halloween update. I took a week to build it from bedrock to just above sea level... well...it works.... but the chunk 0 exploit is gone. so it wont be 10k items/hour but its still decent... i recommend building it to just below see level or just above, and make it look like a natural mountain, a giant 25x25 tower is ugly jutting into the sky D: --- Vincent_Seiei - When I press O near it, it just makes the "deny" sound effect.
