I've been pretty much travelling to a town spend a night, travel to the next town, spend the night etc. Quite a fun game.

I'm with ChaosHawk on this one. I checked out Superflat last night, and it's actually super lame. I can only assume it was intended for creative mode. Either way, boo. Besides, the only fun thing about the villages is killing the npcs, since they're a waste of virtual space.

Obviously it was intended for creative mode. There's no question of that.

I just see no fun in building on a completely flat and barren surface. It's just far more inspiring and rewarding to build with what is generated in a regular map.

Good question. Maybe Jeb made it more likely, who knows?

i started 3 new maps for the challenge 3 because the 1st spawned me nearby 1 very close village with one just past it. the second world near a village with 2 blacksmiths. the 3rd finally no village in sight.

the first used the seed -1786761551 which i typed in as superflathell (or maybe flatlandhell) ironically. has a single blackmiths with 2 iron chest pieces and 3 obsidian

the second seed is -8667801618162375950 has a single village with 2 blacksmiths. 4 iron 4 saplings a red apple iron boots iron chest and 2 diamonds

ridiculous..

The slimes make the first day more interesting on hardcore.

For testing designs, experimenting with redstone and sharing single buildings/ creations it has a very great use, flat maps have been around for awhile, now they can just be generated in game
