Minecraft was unable to start because it failed to find an accelerated OpenGL mode. This can usually be fixed by updating the video card drivers.

I've done some searching and others have had the same problem. So far I have not found a concrete solution to the problem.
Here is a 'solution' for Intel graphics cards. Might help if you have one. http://www.gamefaqs.com/pc/606524-minecraft/answers?qid=259416
There were also a mention of running the game with limited RAM given to the program. This was mentioned in the Technic forums. http://forums.technicpack.net/index.php?topic=9613.0
Do you have any mods installed? If you do, make a backup of your .minecraft folder and do a force update to get a fresh non-modded copy of 1.2.5 and see if you still get the same error.
What are the specs of your XP machine? Which graphics card is in your laptop? Is this your first time running minecraft on the laptop or did it just happen recently? If recently what did you install or change on your laptop recently prior to the error?
@Chrono Trigger Rules This is usually solved by reinstalling minecraft. Make a backup of your saves and delete the .minecraft folder. Then reinstall that should fix it.
Thanks sorry for the late reply i will try that now my specs are CPU- Intel Core 2 Duo Processor T8100 Enhanced Speedstep Technology, 2.10Ghz Memory-m4GB/Go DDR2 SDRAM HDD- 300 GB/Go Graphics- NVIDIA GeForce 8400M GT GPU OS- Windows Vista Home Premium
TheCub108 posted... Also i have no Mods installed and this is the first time having Minecraft on this laptop
that is actually verry simliar to my main laptop's specs, except I have an 8600 instead of the 8400, and I can easily top 80 fps on average. --- http://images.wikia.com/mylittleponyhub/images/9/97/Fluttershy2.png http://i.imgur.com/teTls.jpg
